LV firm delisted from Nasdaq

American Wagering Inc. of Las Vegas said it was delisted from the Nasdaq stock exchange this morning.

The company said it was informed by the exchange that it no longer met the minimum requirements for listing on the Nasdaq National Market, and was not immediately successful in getting Nasdaq approval to move to the Nasdaq Small Cap Market.

Nasdaq requires companies to maintain a minimum stock price of $5 and market capitalization of $50 million to continue a national listing. As of Thursday's market close, AWI traded at $2.25, and had a market cap of $17.6 million.

AWI said it has been informed by Nasdaq that it may be eligible to trade its shares over-the-counter, but no trades of the stock were occurring this morning. The company said it is reviewing the decision to determine if it will appeal the delisting.
