Africa on film

The Ubuntu Video Club, a project of the California Newsreel's Library of African Cinema, continues its film series at 10 a.m. Saturday with "Keita, the Heritage of the Griot" at West Las Vegas Arts Center, 947 W. Singing soldiers

Jewish authors

Art exhibits

"Totems," featuring the work of Las Vegas artist K.D. Matheson, is on display through Nov. 1 at the C gates at McCarran International Airport. Matheson's works are made from clay, cement and other earthen materials.

The Nevada State Museum and Historical Society presents "Silver Ladies in Golden Splendor," an exhibit of governors' wives from 1864 to the present, through Sept. 10 at 700 Twin Lakes Drive.
