State moves against 10 contractors

Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000 | 11:07 a.m.

The Nevada State Contractors Board last week revoked eight licenses and took disciplinary action against two pool contractors.

The seven contractors whose licenses were revoked are Henderson-based Greenview Landscape Services and Sun Paradise Pools and Las Vegas-based ACI, WMS, Advanced Underground Utilities and B & L Underground Utilities Inc. Two of Advanced Plumbing's licenses were also revoked.

The board said the contractors' licenses were revoked for one or more of the following reasons: substandard workmanship, failure to comply with notices to correct, failure to include the monetary limits of the license on the contract, failure to maintain the required bond or failure to notify the board of a change of address.

Other charges include the failure to pay for materials and services and to establish financial responsibility and failure to comply with state building laws and regulations concerning pool contracts.

The defendants could not be reached for comment.

Two pool contractors, California Pools & Spas of South West Covina, Calif., and Aqua Blue Pools of Las Vegas, were issued one-year letters of reprimand for one or more of the above-mentioned violations.

The defendants could not be reached for comment.
