Stars top Tacoma in road trip finale

TACOMA, Wash. -- A road trip to forget ended on a high note for the Stars here on Wednesday afternoon.

Third baseman Greg LaRocca had four hits, including a pair of doubles, and catcher George Williams added a double and a two-run triple to pace the short-handed Stars (56-53) to a 9-3 victory over the Tacoma Rainiers at Cheney Stadium.

The win was only the second in nine games on the trip for Las Vegas, which returns home to Cashman Field tonight to open a four-game series with the Edmonton Trappers at 7:05.
