Harrah's Entertainment plans to build a $47 million hotel addition to its East Chicago, Ind., casino.
Construction on the 292-room hotel is scheduled to begin in September, with completion set for fall 2001.
"The hotel will help us capitalize on the projected double-digit growth of the Chicagoland region, the third-largest gaming market in the nation," Gary Loveman, chief operating officer for Harrah's Entertainment, said in a statement Tuesday.
The 15-floor tower is designed to have seven suites on the top floor and will be connected to the existing casino by a two-story structure.
