Immunizations
Health district immunization clinics are open each week in and around Las Vegas. Immunizations are provided without charge to children and young adults under the age of 21 in any of four public health centers and 15 satellite clinics. The following clinics will be open this week, August 2 through August 8:
DISTRICT HEALTH CENTER: 625 Shadow Lane, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
HENDERSON PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER: 129 W. Lake Mead Drive, Building A, Suite 10, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
EAST LAS VEGAS PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER: 560 N. Nellis Blvd., Suite E12, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
NORTH LAS VEGAS FAMILY HEALTH CENTER: 2225 Civic Center Drive, Suite 240C, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
A.D. GUY CLINIC: Boys & Girls Club, 817 N St., 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday.
BOULDER CITY CLINIC: Multipurpose Bldg., 1204 6th St., 9 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m., Wednesday.
MEADOWS VILLAGE CLINIC: Chester W. Stupak Community Center, 300 W. Boston Ave., 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday.
GREEN VALLEY CLINIC: Green Valley Library, 2797 N. Green Valley Parkway, 9 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m. Friday.
CHEYENNE I-3 CLINIC: Centers for Healthy Families, 3266 Las Vegas Blvd. North, No. 12, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday.
BELZ FACTORY OUTLET WORLD: 7400 S. Las Vegas Blvd., 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.
FREMONT MEDICAL CLINIC: 4415 W. Flamingo Road, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Immunizations free to anyone who walks in.
ST. THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC COMMUNITY CHURCH: 130 N. Pecos Road, 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m, Sunday.
NEW HOPE LUTHERAN CHURCH: 333 S. Pavilion Center Drive, (Palo Verde High School), 9:30 a.m.-noon, Sunday.
BELROSE WIC OFFICE: 2917 W. Washington Ave., 9 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m. Monday.
SOUTH CLINIC: (Holy Family Catholic Church), 4490 Mountain Vista St., noon-3. Aug. 8.
NORTHEAST WIC CLINIC: 2404 E. Stewart Ave., 9 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m. Aug. 8.
Lecture on stroke disease set
University Medical Center's Silver Advantage program will hold a lecture on stroke disease 7 p.m. Monday at the Desert Willow Community Center, 2020 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway.
Dr. Kenneth J. Shaw will discuss preventive strategies, diagnosis and treatment for stroke. For more information, contact the Silver Advantage coordinator at 383-2095.
Blood drive planned at seven locations
United Blood Services have scheduled blood drives for:
10 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday at National Airlines, 6020 Spencer St.; 7 a.m.-noon Wednesday at Trimm Technologies, 350 Pilot Road; 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday at National Airlines; 7:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Thursday at Las Vegas City Hall, 400 E. Stewart Ave.; 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday at Sunset Station, 1301 W. Sunset Road; 9 am.-5 p.m. Sunday at Artful Potter, 8826 Sea Stern Ave., No. 114; and 2:30-6 p.m. Monday at Sam's Club, 1910 Serene Ave.
