Jose Acosta

Jose Acosta, 54, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 5, 1945, in Mexico. A resident for 25 years, he was a hotel cook.

He is survived by his wife, Esther; three daughters, Juanita Acosta de Galvan, Alejandra Acosta de Rosales and Bianca Acosta de Hernandez, three sons, Jose A. Acosta Jr., David Acosta and Carlos Acosta, his mother, Antonia Acosta, and four brothers, Rafael Acosta, Crispin Acosta, Gerardo Acosta and Roberto Acosta, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Teresa Licca of Mexico and Elvira Zuniga of Las Vegas; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation will continue today through 11:59 p.m. Saturday at the residence at 1666 Miner Way. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Helen Bevan

Helen Bevan, 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born Feb. 11, 1918, in Philadelphia. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, James Joseph Sr.; three sons, the Rev. James J. Bevan Jr. of Las Vegas, Robert F. Bevan of Rescue, Calif., and William M. Bevan of Philadelphia; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. Sunday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Melissia Bowe Boydston

Melissia Bowe Boydston, 61, of Las Vegas died April 20 in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 3, 1938, in Kentucky. A resident for 30 years, she was a gaming cashier.

She is survived by one son, Clifford Stanley, and three daughters, Patricia Hoenerbach, Teresa Boydston and Mary Ann Boydston, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Irene Parsons of Kentucky; and nine grandchildren.

Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Lillian Catherine Brady

Lillian Catherine Brady, 82, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospice. She was born Aug. 15, 1917, in Newark, N.J. A resident for 25 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Joseph Ruel Nicol of California and Thomas Aiden Brady of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling private arrangements.

Cynthia Sue Bunnell

Cynthia Sue Bunnell, 67, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 29, 1932, in Indiana. A resident for five years, she was a nurse.

She is survived by her husband, David Bunnell, M.D.; three sons, Bill Bunnell of Irvine, Calif., Tom Bunnell of Las Vegas and David C. Bunnell of Newport Beach, Calif.; two daughters, Sharon Leigh Ybarra of Washington state and Beth Ann Lesher of Corona Del Mar, Calif.; one brother, Bill Briner of Ohio; and six grandchildren.

Burial will be in California. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Willard Leon Curtis

Willard Leon Curtis, 55, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 20, 1923, in Minnesota. A resident for 10 years, he was a customer service planner.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean; two daughters, Susan Curtis of Woodland, Calif., and Mona Rossi; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Serviceds were scheduled 10:30 a.m. today in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, followed by graveside services at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Isabel Halen

Isabel Halen, 80, Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 1, 1919, in England. A resident for 22 years, she was in real estate.

She is survived by one sister, Doris Smith of Las Vegas.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be private.

Walter E. Hudson

Walter E. Hudson, 76, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born May 17, 1923, in Coleman, Texas. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired hotel bartender and a World War II Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his companion, Barbara Hudson, and one daughter, Terrisa Meeks, both of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Israel Lara

Israel Lara, 42, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. He was born April 12, 1957, in Alice, Texas. A resident for one year, he was a carpenter/plasterer.

He is survived by his wife, Rosie; three daughters, Katina Lara, Michelle Lara and Maggie Lara, and one son, Issac Lara, all of Henderson; his parents, Carmen Yanez of Apple Valley, Calif., Manuela and Regino Charles of Henderson and Oscar Lara of Anaheim, Calif.; four sisters, Belinda Martis of Apple Valley, Calif., Gloria Cantu of Lynwood, Calif., Mary Lopez of Fullerton, Calif., and Betty Rodriquez of Anaheim, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Robert Sin Lee

Robert Sin Lee, 27, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local health care center. He was born June 7, 1972, in Las Vegas. A resident for 28 years, he was a landscape architect.

He is survived by his parents, Choi and Lae Lee, one sister, Nancy Lee, one brother, Chester Lee, and his grandmother, Mei Tam, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Nicholas Albert Marchione

Nicholas Albert Marchione, 85, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. He was born Sept. 28, 1914, in West Virginia. A resident for 11 years, he was an engineer and a veteran.

He is survived by one son, Nicholas Albert Marchione II of Simi Valley, Calif.; two daughters, Rebecca Scott of Simi Valley and Nancy McCloskey of Westlake Village, Calif.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be private. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Jesse J. Porter Jr.

Jesse J. Porter Jr., 77, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 4, 1922, in Omaha, Neb. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired machinist/tool and die maker in the aerospace industry, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the Zelzah Shrine Temple and Scottish Rite Bodies.

He is survived by two sons, Jesse J. Porter III of Las Vegas and Ronald W. Porter of Kissimmee, Fla.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

The family suggests donations to the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.

Anderson Lorenzo Reed

Anderson Lorenzo Reed, 74, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born April 24, 1925, in Richmond, Va. A resident for one year, he was a retired equipment operator for a tobacco company and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Reed of Long Beach, Calif., Sheridan E. Nixon of Corona, Calif., and Devora Robinson of Sylmar, Calif.; four sons, Dennis Leroy Reed and Donald Lee Reed, all of Gardena, Calif., Leo Anderson Reed of Richmond, and Danny Ray Reed of Las Vegas; 24 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Meyen Sang

Meyen Sang, 53, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born May 15, 1946, in China. A resident for four years, he was a hotel administrator.

He is survived by one son, Tai Sang of Henderson.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Ruggiero Suppa

Ruggiero Suppa, 78, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 12, 1921, in Italy. A resident for several months, he was a traffic manager.

He is survived by one daughter, Jean M. Suppa of Massachusetts.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Massachusetts. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Robert J. Tate

Robert J. Tate, 95, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 8, 1904, in Palmyra, Mo. A resident for nine years, he was a retired heavy truck mechanic.

He is survived by one son, Michael Tate of Las Vegas; one sister, Callie Childers of Florida; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
