Review-Journal columnist John L. Smith said he has been approached to run for Lance Malone's Clark County Commission seat.
Smith said today he prefers covering politics to becoming a politician, but he added that he is giving the request some thought.
"I haven't ruled it out," Smith said.
Smith also declined to identify the people who asked him to run.
Malone already faces a challenge for the District C seat from Clark County School Board member Lois Tarkanian and civil rights activist James Tate.
