Letter: U.S. not rescuer of children

It is also a blatant view of how attorneys and family courts delay justice by manipulating situations. The five-month separation of Elian and his father was wrong, no matter how you look at it.
It is not the duty of the United States to rescue children from every country in which we disagree with their politics. Parent-child relationships are sacred and should only be interfered with when criminal acts are committed that adversely affect a child.
It is very sad that the relatives had to be forced to comply to return Elian to his father.
Now, instead of focusing on the real issue of parents' and children's rights, the issue that may now take center stage is how the Clinton administration handled the situation.
