Man found shot to death
A man was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound in Las Vegas Tuesday night.
Metro Police and paramedics found Andre L. Collins, 31, of Las Vegas shot to death about 9:20 p.m. at a business at 880 E. Sahara Ave. Police have no motive or suspects in the homicide.
Collins' death was the second time this week that police have found a man slain with no clues as to who was responsible.
Police are seeking the public's help in the slaying of Daniel L. Nichols, whose body was found Saturday night in a trash bin near 2575 Westwind Road.
Collins was the 28th homicide in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
Anyone with information on either crime can call Secret Witness at 385-5555.
Three cases found in Clark, Nye
The Clark County Health District has confirmed three cases of measles, one in Clark County and two in neighboring Nye County.
Measles, or rubeola, is an acute, highly contagious viral rash illness. It is spread by direct contact with nasal or throat secretions of infected people, or by airborne transmission.
Initially, an infected person may have a runny nose, cough and slight fever, health district officials said.
A red blotchy rash usually appears on the third to seventh day, beginning on the face.
Children and adults who have not received the measles vaccination can be immunized at any health district location.
Henderson accident kills 1, injures 2
A man was killed and two people were injured in a traffic accident in Henderson Tuesday night.
Mark Amour, 21, of Las Vegas, a passenger in one of the cars, was pronounced dead at the scene after two vehicles collided just before 6 p.m. in the intersection of Gibson Road and Stufflebeam Drive.
The two drivers, whose names were not released this morning, were airlifted to University Medical Center. A 31-year-old man was in critical condition this morning and a 21-year-old woman was in fair condition.
Police did not cite either driver but suspect driver error was to blame. They are still investigating.
Anyone with information on the accident can call the Henderson Police Detective Bureau at 565-2009.
