Doctors hope to fix lawyers' wagons
The 11th annual Doctors vs. Lawyers charity softball game to benefit University Medical Center's Children's Miracle Network will be held 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Cashman Field. The gates open at 3 p.m.
The Las Vegas Stars will donate $3 on every ticket sold in advance to UMC's Children's Miracle Network. Ticket price is $7, which includes the regularly scheduled season game between the Las Vegas Stars and the Calgary Cannons.

Green Valley Ranch to host weekend event
The Green Valley Ranch community will host "Art Walk 2000' 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in the Paseo Verde Plaza shopping center, 55 Valle Verde Drive, Henderson.
Sponsored by American Nevada Corp., developer of Green Valley Ranch, the show is organized by local artist Mark Vranesh and will feature the work of artists from Arizona, California and Utah, along with many well-known Southern Nevada artists.

Workshop to help those 13 and older
A shadow puppetry workshop will be held noon-2 p.m. Saturday at the Whitney Ranch Satellite Center, at Galleria Drive and Patrick Lane in Henderson.
The workshop is open to participates 13 and older. Enrollment is $15. Call 450-5885.
Nazi prison camp survivor to speak
The annual Yom Hashoah community-wide Holocaust memorial service will begin 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Midbar Kodesh Temple, 1940 Paseo Verde Drive, Henderson.
Karl Schnibbe, a Mormon survivor of Nazi Germany prison camps, will be the guest speaker. Call 733-6292.
Annual retreat set for Mesquite in June
Courage Unlimited Inc. is sponsoring the third annual Essence of Beauty Upbeat Retreat June 9-11 at the CasaBlanca Resort in Mesquite.
The theme of the two-day event is "Get Smart, Get Living." The focus will be on good health practices, especially for those facing cancer or other health challenges. Presentation by health professionals will be balanced with rest and relaxation.

Ceremony on tap at Guy center
Las Vegas will honor former prisoners of war during a special ceremony 11 a.m. Thursday at the Addeliar D. Guy, III Ambulatory Care Center, 1700 Vegas Drive.
The ceremony is sponsored by VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System and Chapter 7-11, American Ex-Prisoners of War. The community is invited to attend. Call Lisa Howard at 636-4002.
