110 journeymen graduate

The Nevada Carpenters' Apprenticeship Program said a record 110 students graduated this month to become journeymen carpenters, a 30 percent increase from last year's class.
The Nevada Carpenters Union attributed the increase to growth in Southern Nevada, a higher market share for union labor and recognition of the value of apprenticeship training.
To graduate, the apprentices completed a four-year program including 576 hours of classroom training and 6,000 hours of on-the-job training.
