UNLV sophomore left-hander Ryan Olson was named one of the Collegiate Baseball Lousiville Slugger National Players of the Week for the week ending Monday.
Along with Olson, catcher Brad Creese of LSU and pitcher Mike Ziegler of Florida State were honored.
Olson was also named the Mountain West Conference pitcher of the week for the second time in the last three weeks. Olson tied a school record with 15 strikeouts Thursday against Utah, pitching his third complete game of the season to lead UNLV to a 4-2 win.
Olson (5-1) retired 19 straight batters during one stretch in the game.
