William Nevitt Carman

William Nevitt Carman, 51, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 29, 1948, in California. A resident for 13 years, he was a plumbing design engineer.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; two stepsons, Joel Worfolk of Mississippi and Edward Worfolk of Las Vegas; one daughter, Gina Kortcamp of California; one brother, Ronald Carman of Florida; and seven grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Roy A. Carson

Roy A. Carson, 71, of Boulder City died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born March 14, 1929, in Nevada. A resident for 22 years, he was a postman.

He is survived by one foster son, Jose Gonzales of California.

Services will be 2 p.m. May 6 in St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, Boulder City. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Anne Cupshan Cornsweet

Anne Cupshan Cornsweet, 86, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 22, 1918, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 52 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, David Milton Cornsweet of Del Mar, Calif.; and one daughter, Francine Cornsweet of Tempe, Ariz.

Graveside services were scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Woodlawn Cemetery. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, handled arrangements.

Thomas Phillip Ferrigno

Thomas Phillip Ferrigno, 64, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born May 13, 1935, in San Francisco. A resident for two years, he was a retired food distribution broker, an Army veteran, director of the Reno Italian Golf Association, board member of the Truckee Meadows Boys and Girls Club and member of the Lions and Elks.

He is survived by his wife, Denise; one son, Paul Thomas Ferrigno, and one daughter, Andrea-Ferrigno-O'Grady, both of Las Vegas; and one sister, Betty Perez of Redwood City, Calif.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to Truckee Meadows Boys and Girls Club, 2680 E. Ninth St., Reno, NV 89512.

Elijah Fleming

Elijah Fleming, 70, of Las Vegas died Thursday. He was born Sept. 29, 1929, in Georgia. A resident for 43 years, he was a real estate broker and a military veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Lionel Fleming and Brian Fleming, his mother, Daisy Fleming, and one sister, Nellie Gaitor, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 4-6 p.m. Tuesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Robert E. Gallego

Robert E. Gallego, 76, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. He was born Nov. 24, 1923, in San Luis Obispo, Calif. A resident for 22 years, he was a retired sheet metal worker for an aircraft company and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; two sons, Gale Gallego and Robert Gallego, one daughter, Sally Burgess, and one sister, Shirley Vinzant, all of Las Vegas; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Nancy Jan Harris

Nancy Jan Harris, 66, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born May 1, 1933, in Texas. A resident for 24 years, she was a city government secretary.

She is survived by one son, Andy Van Buskirk, and one brother, David Harris, both of Las Vegas; two daughters, Donna Ferguson and Susie Compton, both of Texas; and eight grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Dallas. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Lois Eileen Horner

Lois Eileen Horner, 62, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born July 20, 1937, in Kalamazoo, Mich. A resident for four years, she was retired.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth M.; one son, Kenneth M. Horner Jr. of Bellingham, Wash.; one daughter, Kimberly Ann Fuessel of Vancouver, Wash.; two sisters, Nancy Youngblood of Richland, Mich., and Phyllis Nash of Kalamazoo; four brothers, Jim Paddock of Kingman, Ariz., Jack Paddock of Kileen, Texas, and Bob Paddock and Jerry Paddock, both of Kalamazoo; and two grandchildren.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Martin R. Isquierdo

Martin R. Isquierdo, 38, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 27, 1961, in Lubbock, Texas. A resident for several years, he was a laborer.

He is survived by his wife, Dora; two sons, Artie Isquierdo and Martin Isquierdo Jr., his parents, Frank and Irma Isquierdo, and two brothers, Freddy and Danny Isquierdo, all of Las Vegas; and one granddaughter.

Visitation will continue until 5 p.m. today in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will follow at 5:30 p.m. today in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries.

James William Johnson

James William Johnson, 57, of Henderson died April 18 in a local hospice. He was born Sept. 10, 1942, in Oklahoma City. A resident for 32 years, he was an electrician for the Clark County School District, an Air Force veteran from 1960 to 1964, a member of the Educational Support Employees Association and a former member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue; three daughters, Laura Dickensheets of Henderson, Michelle St. Claire of San Diego and Kristin Corthell of Las Vegas; two sons, Anthony Johnson of San Diego and Matthew Johnson of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; his mother, Ivy Johnson, and two brothers, Earl Wayne Johnson and Charles David Johnson, all of Oklahoma City; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be 6 p.m. Thursday at Highland Hills Baptist Church, 615 College Drive, Henderson. Valley Memorial Crematory, 745 W. Sunset Road, No. 16, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Holly Joy Kean

Holly Joy Kean, 78, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 15, 1921, in Nebraska. A resident for 15 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Tom; one son, Don Taylor of Beverly Hills, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Marcy McGinn of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 6 p.m. services Wednesday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Nina Spertus Klevs

Nina Spertus Klevs, 94, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born May 21, 1905, in Russia. A resident for three months, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, William; two daughters, Meera Blattner-Kamegai and Barbara Reiss, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Herman Spertus of Chicago; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Virginia M. Kosacek

Virginia M. Kosacek, 78, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 6, 1922, in Kalamazoo, Mich. A resident for 30 years, she was employed at Al Phillips and Hudson cleaners.

She is survived by one daughter, Judy Hone, and one son, James Kosacek, both of Las Vegas; two sisters, Shirley Wilson of Las Vegas and Marcella Pyle of Portage, Mich.; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Virginia Lavon Lovall

Virginia Lavon Lovall, 40, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born May 22, 1959, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a hotel housekeeper.

She is survived by her husband, Louis; one son, Jerry Jackson, and one daughter, Brayetta Lovall, both of Las Vegas; her mother, Margrite Jackson of North Las Vegas; one brother, Freddie Jackson of San Bernardino, Calif.; four sisters, Doris Stewart, Patricia Dorcey, Janice Jackson and Rosetta Williams, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation will continue until 5 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Paul A. Maxson

Paul A. Maxson, 74, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 29, 1925, in Ohio. A resident for 20 years, he was an appliance salesman at Gemco department store and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Anna; one son, Steven P. Maxson of South Bend, Ind.; three daughters, Dr. Teresa Maxson of Rockledge, Fla., Debra Hardy of Castaic, Calif., and Cynthia M. Sexton of Murrieta, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be 7 p.m. today in the Meadows Chapel at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be private.

Luis A. Mestre

Luis A. Mestre, 88, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born Feb. 28, 1912, in Cuba. A resident for five years, he was a retired veterinarian.

He is survived by one daughter, Gredel Martinez of Las Vegas; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Gwendolyn B. Murphy, 79, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. A homemaker, she was born Nov. 24, 1921.

She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Grimmis, one brother, Leonard Dryden, and one sister, Gladys Grucella, all of Las Vegas; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Harriet Pritchard New, 82, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born April 28, 1917, in Arkansas. A resident for 50 years, she was a retired waitress.

She is survived by one son, George Owen of California; two daughters, Lola Littlejohn of Indiana and Helen Reardon of California; one sister, Leona Sjogren of Mesquite; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Helen C. Penn

Helen C. Penn, 83, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 8, 1916, in Kincave, Ill. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired hotel waitress.

She is survived by two nephews, Anthony Mark and Bruno Mark, and one niece, Patricia Gardner, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 4-6 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Fred Pfyffer

Fred Pfyffer, 56, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. He was born May 18, 1943, in Santa Cruz, Calif. A resident for seven years, he was a retired landscape supply company owner-operator.

He is survived by his wife, Zindy; one daughter, Taffy Connors of Sumter, S.C.; two sons, Greg Pfyffer of Santa Cruz and Joe Pfyffer of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Johnny Ray Price, 44, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. He was born March 1, 1956, ih Palestine, Texas. A resident for 27 years, he was a 21 dealer.

He is survived by six sons, Danny, Jerome, Christopher, Lorenzo, Johnny Jr., and Rodney, his parents, Ruth and Warren Price Sr., four brothers, Warren Price Jr., Larry, Aaron and Anthony, and four sisters, Linda Swanson, Cynthia Price, Virginia and Rhonda Taylor, all of Las Vegas.

David Johnstone Scott

David Johnstone Scott, 56, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 3, 1944, in Tennessee. A resident for five years, he was a communications salesman and a veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Jeannette Scott and Michelle Scott, both of Woodland, Calif.; and one grandchild.

Alma Lynn Smith

Alma Lynn Smith, 85, of Boulder City died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 8, 1914, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 19 years, he was a retired engineer in the mining industry, a member of Boulder City Elks Lodge and a retired scoutmaster.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia B.; two sons, Russell D. Smith and Patrick L. Smith, both of Salt Lake City; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 6 p.m. Wednesday in St. Anne Catholic Church, 1901 S. Maryland Parkway. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Anne Church. Entombment will follow in Palm Mausoleum. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Kevin W. Snook, 45, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 30, 1954, in Manhattan, Kan. A resident for 12 years, he was an electrician, an Army veteran and a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 357 for 12 years.

He is survived by his wife, Terri; three stepchildren; one brother, Trey Falk of St. Charles, Ill.; four sisters, Lori Stegner of Santa Rosa, Calif., Billie O'Hagan of Seattle, Jennifer Oeltjen of Gretna, Neb., and Terry Oller of Taylorsville, Ill.

Freddy Sotoespinosa, 63, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 18, 1936, in Las Tunas, Cuba. A resident for four years, he was a dishwasher.

He is survived by his wife, Maricella Salgado.

Irma E. Thomasson, 87, of Henderson died Friday in a local care center. She was born March 22, 1913, in Oklahoma. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Ramona Finocchiaro of Las Vegas; and one sister, Belva Morrison of Las Cruces, N.M.

Francisco Villegas, 75, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born March 9, 1925, in Fentress, Texas. A resident for 43 years, he retired as a painter after 40 years and was a member of Painters and Decorators Local 159.

He is survived by one daughter, Mary Lou Villegas of Tonopah; two sons, Raul S. Villegas and Richard S. Villegas, one brother, David Villegas, and two sisters, Dora Diaz and Linda Aguilera, all of Las Vegas; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Shirley Jean Waller, 62, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born June 29, 1936, in Tekamah, Neb. A resident for 38 years, she was a Clark County School District food server.

She is survived by her husband, Roy; two sons, Gary Waller and Steve Waller, both of Las Vegas; three brothers; two sisters; and two grandchildren.

Ryan Michael Willard, 14, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 22, 1986, in Las Vegas. He was a Molasky Junior High School student.
