Barry Shier, executive vice president of marketing and hotel operations at Mirage Resorts Inc., will resign from the company upon the completion of its acquisition by MGM Grand Inc.
A Mirage statement said Shier was leaving "to spend more time with his family and consider new business opportunities."
In addition to his executive vice president's position, Shier was the chairman and chief executive of the Mirage subsidiaries that controlled Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Miss., and the Golden Nugget hotel-casino in downtown Las Vegas. Shier has held his executive position at Mirage since 1987.
