LV hospital operator beats earnings forecast

Universal Health Services Inc. of King of Prussia, Pa., reported a first-quarter profit of $28.6 million vs. $30 million in the prior-year quarter. Earnings per share of 92 cents equaled last year's performance.
Analysts had forecast a profit of 88 cents.
Valley, Desert Springs and Summerlin hospitals are owned by Universal in Las Vegas.
