Census questionnaire return rate up in Nevada

Heller said figures released by the U.S. Census Bureau show Nevada's response rate to the mail-in questionnaire is up from 58 percent in 1990 to 63 percent this year.
That puts Nevada among the top five states for improvement over 1990 response rates, he said. Overall, Nevada is 29th in response rates, up from 45th a decade ago.
"Given Nevada's tremendous growth over the past 10 years, an increased response rate of this magnitude is a real accomplishment and one certain to make a meaningful difference for all Nevadans," Heller said in a written statement.
Over the next six to eight weeks, Census workers will be visiting homes of people who did not return the questionnaire or who returned forms that were incomplete.
