New plans to be made for wild horse control
Wednesday, April 19, 2000 | 3 a.m.
The northwest part of the 3-million-acre range is home to hundreds of wild horses, many of whom roam what is called the Nevada Wild Horse Range.
Part of the wild horse range overlaps areas of the Nevada Test Site, where the Energy Department tested nuclear weapons until 1992.
The Bureau of Land Management, Air Force and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will be conducting hearings to determine how to handle the wild horse and burro issues.
