Las Vegan Andre Agassi is in line to collect two sports awards. The tennis star was nominated Tuesday in two categories for the inaugural Laureus Sports Awards. The winners will be announced in Monte Carlo May 25.
Agassi has been nominated for Sportsman of the Year, where his rivals are Tiger Woods and 100-meter world record holder Maurice Greene, and Comeback of the Year award.
Cycling star Lance Armstrong, who overcame cancer to win last year's Tour de France, and Swedish athlete Ludmila Engqvist, who returned to the track while still receiving cancer treatment, are Agassi's rivals in the comeback category.
The contenders for Sportswoman of the Year are Wimbledon champion Lindsay Davenport and track stars Marion Jones and Gabriela Szabo. Spanish golfer Sergio Garcia, tennis star Serena Williams and Super Bowl MVP Kurt Warner are candidates for Newcomer of the Year.
The team nominations went to European Champions Cup holder Manchester United, the U.S. women's soccer team and Australia's World Cup-winning rugby union squad.
