Clark 9, Las Vegas (split) 3: David Ward tossed a complete-game four-hitter, striking out eight batters and allowing no earned runs to help the Chargers win their opening game in the Foothill Invitational.
Centennial 13, Foothill 11: Tim Wheeler went 3-for-5 with a home run and two doubles as the Bulldogs beat the host team in the Foothill Invitational.
Sante Fe Christian (Calif.) 13, Durango 1: The Trailblazers were limited to four hits in a loss in their own adidas Invitational.
Durango 5, Centennial (Calif.) 4: Brent Johnson went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two doubles and Brandon Perry was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a double as the Blazers bounced back from their morning loss.
SOFTBALL
Las Vegas 2, Menlo Atherton (Calif.) 1: Rachel Hirsch threw a four-hitter with eight strikeouts and went 2-for-3 at the plate as the Wildcats won their Fred Davison Memorial opener.
El Capitan (Calif.) 6, Las Vegas 0: The Wildcats were held to four hits in a Fred Davison Memorial Tournament loss.
Clark 9, John C. Fremont (Calif.) 4: Jodee Italiano doubled home two runs to lead the host Chargers in the first round of the Fred Davison Memorial Tournament.
Hilltop (Calif.) 9, Clark 1: Last year's Fred Davison runners-up held the hosts to two hits.
