Former Gov. List joins company’s board

Las Vegas Sands Inc., owner and operator of the Venetian hotel-casino, named former Nevada Gov. Robert List to its board of directors.

List, a Republican, was governor of Nevada from 1979 to 1983. Currently, he is chief executive of the Robert List Co., a Las Vegas-based consulting firm dealing with regulatory and administrative government agencies.

"I'm honored and pleased to have been invited," List said. "This is a dynamic company with a world-class property in every sense. So I'm looking forward to it."

"(List) will bring a unique perspective on gaming and hospitality in the state of Nevada," said Las Vegas Sands Chairman Sheldon Adelson.

List also serves on the board of directors of Las Vegas-based companies Game Data Inc., Cole Industries Inc. and Clark and Sullivan Constructors Inc.
