Dr. Vincent G. Cedarblade
Dr. Vincent G. Cedarblade, 87, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born Jan. 23, 1913, in Maple Plains, Minn. A resident for 24 years, he was a physician. He practiced surgery in Denver from 1945 to 1975, was medical director for Montgomery Ward in Denver for 22 years and medical adviser for the Nevada State Industrial Insurance System 1978-1986. He was a founding member of the Denver Academy of Surgery, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of Southwestern Surgical Congress.
He is survived by two daughters, Sharon Niccoli of Port Townsend, Wash., and Judy Aldi of Las Vegas; one son, Thomas G. Cedarblade of Riverside, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

James 'Tiny' Clifton
James 'Tiny' Clifton, 61, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born May 30, 1938, in Darnell, La. A resident for 45 years, he retired as a truck driver from the Nevada Test Site after 33 years, was a Marine Corps veteran, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8857, American Legion and Teamsters Local 631.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; two daughters, Catherine Teeters and Nancy Ralyea, both of Las Vegas; one stepbrother, Eugene Hensel of Bartlesville, Okla.; one stepsister, Ruth Tolpolsky of Belpre, Ohio; and five grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Tuesday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Davis Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
Nellie Ruth Frazier
Nellie Ruth Frazier, 70, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 20, 1929, in Harrisburg, Pa. A resident for seven years, she was a bookkeeper for a real estate office.
She is survived by two sons, George Gregory Beck and William Lance Beck, and one daughter, Jana Lynn Himmel, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Sue Knapp of Belen, N.M.; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 30 minutes prior to 2 p.m. services Tuesday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.
Benjamin Haynes
Benjamin Haynes, 19, of Brooklyn, N.Y., died Sunday at UCLA hospital in Westwood, Calif. He was born May 29, 1980, in Las Vegas. He attended the Meadows School, then later a Jewish academy in Brooklyn, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Haynes, and his father, Marcus Haynes.
He is survived by his brother, Arthur Haynes, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; his grandmother, Lillie Hyman of Las Vegas; four uncles, Edward and Allen Hyman of Los Angeles, Marvin Hyman of Tucson, Ariz., and Joe Haynes of Nashville, Tenn.; many cousins; and many great aunts.
A memorial service is scheduled 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bunker's Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. A graveside service will follow at Bunker's Eden Vale Park and Mortuary, 1216 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
The family requests donations to UCLA Children's Hospital.
Albert William 'Jack' Johnson
Albert William "Jack" Johnson, 89, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. He was born Sept. 20, 1910, in Calumet, Okla. A resident for 10 years, he owned and operated a farm implement dealership before his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; one son, Ken Johnson of Las Vegas; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
Lester Meckler
Lester Meckler, 84, of Henderson died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born July 25, 1915, in Illinois. A resident for two years, he was a machinist.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; four sons, Dane Meckler, Bryce Alberts, Barry Alberts and William Alberts; two daughters, Beverly Olridge and Betty Matthews; two brothers, Ronald Meckler and Leonard Meckler; one sister, Loretta Erlick; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling private arrangements.
Dorothy Perlove
Dorothy Perlove, 69, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born March 29, 1931, in Michigan. A resident for many years, she was a secretary for a deli and restaurant.
She is survived by one sister, Freda Forman of Redford, Mich.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Michigan. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Leone B. Schaefer
Leone B. Schaefer, 76, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. She was born March 23, 1924, in Terrill, Iowa. A resident for nine years, she was a retired retail manager.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandie Stevens of Las Vegas; one son, Randy Schaefer of Ventura, Calif.; two sisters, Betty Schoening of Spencer, Iowa, and Bonnie Boers of Middletown, Calif.; one brother, Dale Gillespie of El Paso, Texas; and three grandchildren.

Evelyn A. Shaw
Evelyn A. Shaw, 83, of North Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 19, 1916, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 39 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by seven daughters, Mary Louise Robinson of Salt Lake City, Janice Sanchez and Karen Young, both of West Valley City, Utah, Nadeen Brunson of Midvale, Utah, Evelyn Naillon of Kennewick, Wash., Christene Younker of Pahrump and Rena Rivera of Las Vegas; one son, Keith Shaw of Midvale; one sister, Lorna Albiston of Salt Lake City; 29 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Eden Vale Memorial Park.
Ben Slesinski
Ben Slesinski, 84, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born July 4, 1915, in Detroit. A resident for 19 years, he was a postal carrier and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Myldred; and one sister, Monica Beckowsky of Michigan.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Christ Lutheran Church, 111 N. Torrey Pines Drive. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Gordon Stuart
Gordon Stuart, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born June 28, 1922, in Missouri. A resident for many years, he was an engineer.
He is survived by one son, Gordon Stuart Jr. of Missouri.

Jack A. Voisard
Jack A. Voisard, 57, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 3, 1943, in Indiana. A resident for many years, he owned a power equipment store.
He is survived by one son, Thomas L. Voisard of North Losantville, Ind.

Eugene 'Bill' Whittle
Eugene "Bill" Whittle, 60, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born May 20, 1939, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 44 years, he was a contractor and founder of Recreation Development Co. and designed and built the Statue of Liberty at New York-New York.
He is survived by his wife, Pat; two daughters, Kathy Mich'l and Lisa Tippetts, and four sons, Jeffrey Whittle, Gregory Whittle, Steven Whittle and Todd Whittle, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Valorie Foster of Palmdale, Calif.; three brothers, Lavar Whittle of Glendale, Calif., Freeon Whittle of Cloquet, Minn., and Trent Whittle of Orem, Utah; and 12 grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Tuesday in the LDS Eldorado First Ward. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park Northwest.
