Attorney’s LV practice suspended

CARSON CITY -- The Nevada Supreme Court has temporarily suspended the law practice of Las Vegas attorney Clarence Gamble until complaints against him -- including allegations of misappropriating more than $22,000 -- are settled.
Gamble "poses a substantial threat of serious harm" if he is allowed to practice law, the court said. It also placed restrictions on Gamble's bank accounts, "given the admitted misappropriation of a substantial amount of funds."
The court said all proceeds from Gamble's law practice and other fees received on behalf of his clients must be deposited in a trust account and no withdrawals may be made except with written permission of the attorney for the state Bar of Nevada.
The grievances filed against Gamble include misconduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation and conflict of interest.
Gamble, according to the Friday order issued by the court, agreed to work with the Southern Nevada Disciplinary Board of the bar association in resolving the complaints, but there has not been any substantial progress since Feb. 3.
