Letter: Editorial hits nail on head

When state Sen. Mike Schneider tried to get a bill passed during the last legislative session, his legislation limited going after a faulty builder for four years. I, and the many others who picketed in front of the state Sawyer Office Building against that bill, were successful. It did not pass. The one that was successful gave owners at least 10 years to seek compensation for construction defects.
Do you suppose builders will now have a favorite credo that says: "Build it any old way: no one can hurt us."
It isn't bad enough that homeowners association boards do as they please. Now it's going to be builders. Our esteemed mayor, Oscar Goodman, has expressed interest in the plight of homeowners. Hopefully Oscar will watch over builders' shoddy actions.
