UNLV baseball wins 4th straight

PROVO, Utah -- The UNLV baseball team defeated Brigham Young 12-6 Thursday in its first game of a Mountain West Conference three-game series.
UNLV has now won a season-high four straight games. The Rebels improved to 11-25 overall, 4-10 in MWC play. BYU dropped to 22-18 overall and 10-6 in the MWC.
Junior first baseman Trent Kitsch continued his torrid hitting with a 4-for-5 performance, including two home runs and four RBIs. Kitsch, the MWC player of the week, hit a three-run home run to right field in the first inning to give UNLV a 3-0 lead. Kitsch has hit five home runs in his last four games and leads the team with nine.
He belted a solo shot to right field in the third inning to increase UNLV's lead to 4-0. He is batting .647 (11-for-17) over his last five games.
Junior catcher Brad Beasley went 2-for-4 with a grand slam and a career-high five RBIs.
