Nuclear power advocates had said then that if Nevadans were willing to host the repository, federal benefits would flow in return. But no money appeared and all the commission received was scorn by fellow Nevadans. It is hoped that the commission finally has come to its senses and not only rescinds its resolution, but also joins with the rest of Nevada in opposing a repository.
