Those two counties along with Carson City and the state highway department are looking at the feasibility of starting a western corridor bus line.
Washoe County Transportation Commission spokesperson Nancy Pearl said serious talks are underway looking at linking Reno and Carson City. Including the Minden-Gardnerville area is a possibility and service in the Fernley and Fallon areas could be down the road.
Backers say it would reduce pollution, ease the stress of driving and would help reduce the number of vehicles on the highway both for people who live in Reno but work in Carson City or vice versa or for folks to the south who want to go to Reno to shop.
