A convicted sex offender has pleaded innocent to fondling one patient at Summerlin Medical Center and sexually assaulting another.
Roy Alan O'Guinn, 38, is scheduled to stand trial May 31 on felony charges of sexual assault on a victim 65 years or older and burglary and a gross misdemeanor of open or gross lewdness.
He entered his plea Tuesday during his arraignment.
The charges stem from a May 27, 1999, incident in which a man walked into the hospital room of one patient, fondled her and then left when she paged a nurse for help. The man then went to the room of a 67-year-old patient and sexually assaulted her, police said.
Police said O'Guinn was detained by hospital security after the attacks.
Police records show O'Guinn was convicted of sex crimes in California in 1980 and in Nevada in 1989.
