Reform party raffles off guns
The Reform Party of Nevada is raffling two guns as part of the group's fund-raising efforts for this fall's elections.
A civilian version of the military M-9 Baretta and a Winchester lever-action .45-caliber rifle will be raffled on April 30.
The event will be held at the Reform Party state convention at the Tropicana hotel-casino.
The convention is scheduled to run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tickets for the raffle are $5 each and can be purchased online at www.nevada.reformparty.org.
Judge kicks off campaign
Justice Court Judge Bill Jansen is kicking off his re-election campaign with a racing theme on April 19. He will begin his campaign at Race Rock International, 425 Fremont St., 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Jansen, who was an FBI agent for more than 23 years before becoming a justice of the peace in 1985, is seeking his fourth term as Department 5 judge.
