Parking lot argument ends in fatal stabbing

A Las Vegas man was arrested early today in a stabbing death during a confrontation Monday night with angry residents of an apartment complex.
Toby Bishop, 34, was charged with murder and was held without bond in the Clark County Dentention Center this morning.
He is accused of stabbing Anthony Castillo, 21, in the parking lot of the complex in the 5200 block of East Craig Road about 9:40 p.m., Metro Police said.
Castillo was a passenger in a car driven by another man who was reportedly driving recklessly in the parking lot and nearly struck Bishop's 12-year-old stepson, Lt. Wayne Petersen of Metro's homicide unit said. The boy was not injured.
Bishop's wife and some other residents yelled at the driver and Castillo. A verbal argument continued and became heated, police said.
"The argument may have turned physical, and the female's husband (Bishop) came to her defense," Petersen said. "He confronted the passenger of the vehicle."
Castillo was stabbed once in the chest and died in the parking lot. The driver of the car fled the complex but later returned and talked with investigators, Petersen said.
Bishop also left the area and was arrested about 1 a.m. today in a North Las Vegas casino, police said.
