Bathtub maker set against Clean Air Act again

A Moapa manufacturer who was fined $575,000 by the Environmental Protection Agency last year is facing more problems in meeting requirements of the federal Clean Air Act.
Lasco Bathware was issued a violation notice in March by the EPA.
Lasco is a division of Tompkins Industries Inc., which uses Fiberglas and plastic compounds to make tubs and showers.
An EPA spokesman said the new violation is for starting construction of a new production line without a permit that ensured its operations would not worsen air pollution in Clark County.
