Grady B. Barker

Grady B. Barker, 84, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 22, 1916, in Texas. A resident for 50 years, he was a mechanic for a rental firm and a former member of the Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Sara; three sons, Rod Salgado and John Salgado, both of Las Vegas, and William Barker of Washington state; two daughters, Sherry Cowlishaw of Sandy Valley and Carol Crisp of Texas; and six grandchildren.

Bill Barton

Bill Barton, 77, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born March 8, 1923, in Nauvoo, Ala. A resident for 42 years, he was a retired hotel chef, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the Police Protective Association and the Culinary Union.

He is survived by one son, Dennis Barton of Las Vegas; two daughters, Lennie Flint of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Kathleen Kassay of Ukiah, Calif.; his companion, Elois Tomlinson of Las Vegas; two sisters, Pernie Sutton of Mesquite and Bernice Noles of Nauvoo; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Erimay K. Boru

Erimay K. Boru, 25, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born June 13, 1974, in Oregon. A resident for many years, he was a computer engineer.

He is survived by his parents, Kasiyan and Kapitolina Boru of Woodburn, Ore.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Oregon. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Rebecca J. Braun

Rebecca J. Braun, 64, of Las Vegas died April 1 in a local care center. She was born Dec. 5, 1935, in Indonesia. A resident for three years, she was a clothing sales manager.

She is survived by her mother, Louise Spiegel of Las Vegas; and two brothers, James Frandsen and Winand Braun.

Sam 'Quinnie' Cohen

Sam "Quinnie" Cohen, 88, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local care center. He was born Oct. 23, 1911, in Lynn, Mass. A resident for eight years, he was a retired retail manager and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by three daughters, Joan Loft, Lois Conboy and Ruth Lynn Cohen, and one son, David Cohen, all of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

David T. Cottrill

David T. Cottrill, 45, of Las Vegas died Friday in Houston. He was born Oct. 3, 1954, in Aurora, Colo. A resident for 40 years he was a construction worker at American West Homes.

He is survived by his wife, Laura; one son, Adam, and one daughter, Shanda, both of Las Vegas; his mother, Mercedes Babcock of Florida; and three brothers, Loyd Cottrill and Dean Cottrill, both of Las Vegas, and Niel Cottrill of Colorado.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Tuesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Alan Paul Darlow

Alan Paul Darlow, 48, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 4, 1951, in Encino, Calif. A resident for 23 years, he was a Clark County School District maintenance man.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda; one daughter, Erica Darlow, and his parents, Lorraine and Eugene Darlow, all of Las Vegas; and two brothers, Robert Darlow of Brea, Calif., and Dennis Darlow of Whittier, Calif.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Lauphine Elliott

Lauphine Elliott, 86, of Mississippi died March 30 in Mississippi. She was born Oct. 28, 1913, in Mississippi. A former Las Vegas resident for 50 years, she was an office worker at the Clark County assessor's office.

She is survived by one son, Dan Elliott of Grants Pass, Ore.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Emma Huber

Emma Huber, 65, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a Colorado hospital. She was born Nov. 8, 1934, in Stockton, Utah. A resident for 40 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan Baca of Colorado and Trieste Walker of Idaho; four sons, Teddy Huber of South Dakota, Mitch Huber and Danny Phillips, both of Idaho, and Kenneth Huber of Las Vegas; one brother, Sammy Clark of Wyoming; two sisters, Evelynne Henderson of Wyoming and Marion Grimnell of Idaho; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 5 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Kenneth C. Jerome

Kenneth C. Jerome, 81, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born June 25, 1918, in Chicago. A resident for five years, he was a retired U.S. Postal Service letter carrier, a World War II Army veteran, an avid golfer and bowler.

He is survived by his wife, Doris; one son, Jay Jerome of Highland, Ind.; two stepdaughters, Pamela Walker of Dallas and Christine Kendall of Las Vegas; one stepson, Carl Kendall of Hammond, Ind.; one brother, Norman Jerome of Davy, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. services Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Rhonda Scherkenbach

Rhonda Scherkenbach, 44, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 2, 1955, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Carl; one daughter, K'Ann Mathews, one son, Carl Scherkenbach Jr., and one brother, Rickey Boyajian, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Michelle Page of Las Vegas and Susan Longhi of Duck Creek Village, Utah; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Walburga 'Wally' Soult

Walburga "Wally" Soult, 61, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in North Las Vegas. She was born April 25, 1938, in Missoula, Mont. A resident for 35 years, she was a shipping clerk.

She is survived by four daughters, Vickie Wheeler of Japan and Carol Baker, Laurie Kimball and Pamela Fremou, all of Las Vegas; one brother, William Roberts, and one sister, Patty Mathew, both of Montana; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Dean E. Steely

Dean E. Steely, 71, of Overton died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 8, 1928, in Oklahoma. A resident for 40 years, he was a real estate salesman, a Marine Corps veteran and a member of the Overton American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Freida; one daughter, Linda Gault of Powell, Wyo.; one son, Kenny Steely, and one stepdaughter, Kathy Zicker, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Dale Steely of San Francisco and Glen Steely of Oklahoma; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.

Thelma L. Wallace

Thelma L. Wallace, 74, of Las Vegas died April 3 in a local care center. She was born June 22, 1925, in Tennessee. A resident for five years, she was a hotel pantry worker.

She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Withers and Nickie Gates, both of Las Vegas, and Karen Gates of Chicago; three sons, Michael Gates, Reginald Gates and Gregory Gates, all of Las Vegas; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 90 minutes prior to a 10:30 a.m. service Tuesday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
