Letter: Heston not so respectable

Charlton Heston is a has-been 'Gollywood' star. He can't get an acting job, so he took a job with the National Rifle Association.

Thanks to Heston, NRA, and GOP supporters, the little Cuban boy, Elian, is safer attending school in Cuba than Miami. I hope the Immigration and Naturalization Service and Elian's father get him back to Cuba before some first grader in Miami shoots him and thus displays his Second Amendment rights.

As far as calling Al Gore a bore ... Gore is a decorated Vietnam vet, a former U.S. senator, vice president of the United States, a wonderful father, grandfather and husband. Sorry I can't say anything like that about Charlton "Gollywood" Heston, who ended up "monkeying around" in "Planet of the Apes"!
