Dahl to seek re-election
North Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Stephen Dahl has announced that he will seek re-election.
Dahl first took office in 1995 after practicing both public and private law for 10 years. A graduate of Brigham Young University, he was named Judge of the Year by the Trial by Peers Program in 1999.
Dahl also serves on the North Las Vegas steering and enhancement committees.
Gibbons honored
The U.S. Business and Industry Council on Thursday honored Rep. Jim Gibbons, R-Nev., with a superior rating for votes on international economic issues during the 106th Congress.
The USBIC is a group of mostly family-owned manufacturing businesses. The group favors actions that keep manufacturing jobs "strong and healthy" in the United States.
"From unfair trade practices to the proliferation of high-technology weapons, the international economy is an arena that requires the close attention of national leaders like Congressman Jim Gibbons," USBIC President Kevin Kearns said in a written statement.
