North Las Vegas Police are investigating the death of a 38-year-old man who was found Thursday morning in a holding cell in the North Las Vegas Detention Center.
Police detectives are waiting for toxicology results because there were no signs of trauma on inmate Charles Webb's body, said Lt. Chris Larotonda, a police spokesman.
Webb had been treated for substance abuse at Lake Mead Medical Center prior to his arrest on trespassing charges for refusing to leave the hospital, officials said.
Webb had been given clearance from the hospital staff and showed no signs of medical problems when he was booked into the jail, officials said.
He was put under medical observation at the jail with monitoring every 15 minutes, they said.
