Letter: Children’s eatery no place for slots
Friday, April 7, 2000 | 9:47 a.m.
A hat's off to Gaming Control Board member Bobby Siller (and former head of the local FBI office), for pointing out the obvious.
Any marriage of slot machines with a facility that includes a restaurant that caters to children, such as McDonald's, is based purely on greed. This is a set-up to aggressively program young children to a lifetime of victimization and loss of any innocence that might be left.
Shame on the so-called Gaming Control Board for approving slot machines at a location that also houses a McDonald's.
