Garcia to receive $200,000 salary

A four-year contract signed by the Clark County School Board and newly appointed superintendent Carlos Garcia includes a $200,000 salary and benefits, making the entire package worth $268,000.
The contract runs from July 1 through June 30, 2004, on an "at will" basis with the School Board. The contract can be extended through mutual agreement.
Garcia will earn $42,000 more per year than retiring Brian Cram's $158,000 salary. Cram's entire package is worth $241,029, or $26,971 less than Garcia's.
The deal marks a $64,150 pay hike for Garcia, who currently receives a $135,850 salary as superintendent of the Fresno Unified School District in California.
