RICHMOND, Va. -- Richmond guard John Morton poured in a game-high 24 points to lead the Rhythm past the Las Vegas Silver Bandits Wednesday night, 101-85, at Richmond Coliseum.
It was the second straight home win for Richmond while the Silver Bandits (32-23) dropped their second straight on the road.
J.R. Henderson rebounded from a four-point outing against St. Louis two nights ago by turning in a 22-point performance to lead Las Vegas. Rocky Walls recorded a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds.
Harold Ellis scored 15 points off the bench before being ejected with 1:16 left in the fourth quarter. Marcus Liberty checked in with 11 points.
The Silver Bandits led 19-17 after the first quarter, but Richmond caught fire after that. The Rhythm held a 47-36 lead at the half and maintained an 11-point lead throughout the second half. Las Vegas closed to within six points but could get no closer.
The Silver Bandits host Cincinnati on Saturday and Sunday nights at 7 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center.
