Thomas Albert Aldridge

Thomas Albert Aldridge, 83, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. He was born March 2, 1917, in Texas. A resident for 40 years, he was an executive chef in the hotel industry and a member of the Culinary Union.

He is survived by one daughter, Tina Aldridge; one stepson, Craig; five stepdaughters, Donna, Denise, Theresa, Lydia and Kathy; one sister, Rebecca; and nine grandchildren.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Christopher James Barnett

Christopher James Barnett, 28, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 18, 1971, in New Hampshire. A resident for three years, she was a debit manager in collections.

He is survived by his parents, Michael and Donna Barnett of New York; and his best friend, Mark Stewart.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday with visitation following at 4-8 p.m. in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Bob Carr

Bob Carr, 50, of Las Vegas died Feb. 22 in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 1, 1950.

Burial was scheduled in Woodlawn Cemetery. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.

Nettie Corcoran

Nettie Corcoran, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born March 23, 1923, in Minneapolis. A resident for 36 years, she was a sales associate at the Broadway and Macy's for 35 years.

She is survived by her husband, Fred; two sons, Ronald Lindsey and Gerald Lindsey, both of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Valley Memorial Crematory, 745 W. Sunset Road, No. 16, Henderson, handled arrangements.

Opal Amanda Damery

Opal Amanda Damery, 78, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born July 11, 1921, in Omaha, Neb. A resident for 36 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three sons, Greg Damery of Sarasota, Fla., and Frank Schuetze and Arthur Schuetze, both of Las Vegas; one daughter, Debra Carr of Las Vegas; and 17 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. services Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Joe Del Barrio

Joe Del Barrio, 62, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 15, 1937, in Manila, Philippines. A resident for five years, he was a retired travel agency owner-operator and a member of the City of Seven Lakes.

He is survived by his wife, Mila; three daughters, Maria Marasigan of Long Beach, Calif., Sheila Marasigan-Torres of Bakersfield, Calif., and Gina Marasigan of the Philippines; one son, Christian Del Barrio of Alhambra, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Gayle Jeanine Dodson

Gayle Jeanine Dodson, 45, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. She was born June 2, 1954, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 43 years, she was a clerk for the Clark County School District.

She is survived by her husband, Samuel; two daughters, Triena Regan and Tamitha Dodson, one son, Steve Regan, her mother, Antoinette Regan-Austin, three brothers, Henry L. Regan Jr., Anthony R. Regan and David M. West, and one sister, Vanessa A. Johnson, all of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-8 p.m. Thursday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Greater St. Paul Church of God in Christ, 911 N. G St. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Robert L. Flora

Robert L. Flora, 70, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born July 5, 1929, in Laramie, Wyo. A resident for five years, he was a retired salesman and marketer for a business forms company, a Korean War Air Force veteran, a life member of the Elks and a member of Niners Golf Club in Sun City.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby M.; three daughters, Mitten L. Laronga of Allen, Texas, Kibbie L. Whitney of Livermore, Calif., and Tracey A. Marciel of Tracy, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Elsie Formica

Elsie Formica, 79, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 20, 1920, Shawnee, Okla. A resident for 20 years, she was a retired executive secretary, a member of the ladies auxiliary of the American Legion and the Italian American Club.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Joseph; one brother, J.P. Monkers, and one sister, Wanda McCalman, both of Oklahoma.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will be private.

Sol Fromer

Sol Fromer, 79, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born May 11, 1920, in Newark, N.J. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired public transportation engineer, a World War II Army veteran and member of Prisoners of War Chapter 711 of Las Vegas.

He is survived by two sisters, Evelyn Rose and Bella Grant, and one brother, Ted Fromer, all of Redding, Calif.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Reiko M. Jones

Reiko M. Jones, 68, of North Las Vegas died Friday in North Las Vegas. She was born June 7, 1931, in Tachikawa, Japan. A resident for 19 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Donald; one brother, Tsutomu Masuda, and three sisters, Nobuko Baba, Taiko Fukada and Junko Masuda, all of Japan.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Main. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

James Landers

James Landers, 44, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born July 8, 1955, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a bellman at the Las Vegas Hilton and a Nellis Air Force Base veteran.

He is survived by two sons, James Landers and Patrick Landers, and two daughters, Amber Landers and Sherrie Landers, and one sister, Catherine Borla, all of Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Lawrence Levenson

Lawrence Levenson, 71, of Las Vegas died Saturday. A professor, he was born May 27, 1928, in New Jersey.

He is survived by one son, Larry Levenson of Arizona; two daughters, Jane Kretzner of South Dakota and Martha Levenson of Washington state; and one brother, Don Levenson of Florida.

Gilbert 'Tex' Lindsey

Gilbert "Tex" Lindsey, 68, of Pahrump died Monday in Pahrump. He was born March 30, 1932, in Alabama. A resident for 11 years, he was a construction worker and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; three daughters, Reanee Vance of California, Roxanne Sebring of Arizona and Rachel Ritter of Indiana; two brothers, Austin Lindsey of California and Coy Lindsey of Alabama; one sister, Ruby Fletcher of Mississippi; and eight grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Pahrump Family Mortuary, 2240 E. Calvada Blvd.

Genevieve Moriarty

Genevieve Moriarty, 81, of Las Vegas died March 28 in Las Vegas. She was born May 21, 1918, in Jacksonville, Fla. A resident for more than 25 years, she was a school district cashier.

She is survived by her husband, Edward; one daughter, Patricia Turner of Henderson; two sisters, Florence Hummel of Kulpmont, Pa., and Emily Hughes of Columbus, Ga.; and two granddaughters.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Medardo Ortiz III

Medardo Ortiz III, 47, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born April 25, 1953, in Los Angeles. A resident for six years, he was an assistant manager at an auto parts store.

He is survived by his mother, Amelia Ortiz of Walnut, Calif.; six brothers, Alfredo Ortiz of West Covina, Calif., Carlos Ortiz of Rialto, Calif., Raul Ortiz of North Fontana, Calif., Richard Diaz of Baldwin Park, Calif., Fernando Diaz of Los Angeles and Ralph Diaz of Woodlawn Hills, Calif.; and three sisters, Christine Ruiz and Lydia Macias, both of Walnut, and Lorraine Ortiz of Cypress, Calif.

Visitation is scheduled 5-8 p.m. today with an hour of sharing 7-8 p.m. at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be in California.

Gloria Carmen Schuster

Gloria Carmen Schuster, 69, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 7, 1931, in Albuquerque, N.M. A resident for four years, she was a bookkeeper.

She is survived by two daughters, Madeline Schott of Kentucky and Martha Watts of Pahrump; two sons, John Archuleta of Tennessee and Michael Smoliga of California; one sister, Susan Krog of California; one brother, Bradley Schneider of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 9 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. Pahrump Family Mortuary, 2240 E. Calvada Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Doris Smith

Doris Smith, 77, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. An accountant, she was born Sept. 13, 1922, in Montana.

She is survived by three sons, Craig Smith, Larry Smith and Terry, all of Las Vegas.

Margaret Schroeder Smith

Margaret Schroeder Smith, 70, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. A casino clerk, she was born Jan. 20, 1930, in Iowa.

She is survived by her husband, Roger; two sons, Nick Schroeder and Ted Schroeder, and two daughters, Julie Schroeder and Paula Schroeder, all of Iowa.

Josephine L. Terpstra

Josephine L. Terpstra, 78, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 25, 1922, in Carterville, N.Y. A resident for 45 years, she was a retired supervisor at Centel and a World War II Army veteran.

She is survived by her husband, Eddie; two brothers, Norbert Saliscente of West Covina, Calif., and Charles Saliscente of Racine, Wis.; and three sisters, Antonia Nostrant of Big Rapids, Mich., Rosalie Sonneberg of Lakeport, Calif., and Violet Schumm of West Covina.

A memorial service was scheduled at 11 a.m. today in St. Bridget's Catholic Church, 220 N. 14 St. Burial was private. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., handled arrangements.

Dorothy Mae Thomas

Dorothy Mae Thomas, 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born Nov. 29, 1917, in Memphis, Tenn. A resident for 30 years, she was a retired hotel housekeeper and a member of the Pilgrim Christian Society.

She is survived by two sons, Lloyd Ellis Jr. and Nelson Ellis, both of Las Vegas; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Roger Veum

The Rev. Roger Veum, 69, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born April 23, 1930, in Grand Forks, N.D. A resident for eight years, he was a retired Lutheran minister.

He is survived by his wife, Grace R.; two daughters, Mary Kay Quinsland of Corvallis, Ore., and Carol Sue Caldwell of Columbia, Md.; one son, Jonathan R. Veum of Arlington, Va.; one sister, Marcella Lockhart, and one brother, Henry Veum, both of Hamilton, Mont.; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be noon Sunday in St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 8901 Del Webb Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Agnes M. Weidner

Agnes M. Weidner, 85, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born April 28, 1914, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 15 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Judy M. Clark of Long Beach, Calif.; two sons, Jack Weidner and Richard H. Weidner Jr., both of Las Vegas; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Maria Nelsy Whitlock

Maria Nelsy Whitlock, 58, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born May 27, 1941, in Cali, Colombia. A resident for 21 years, she was a hotel guest room attendant.

She is survived by her mother, Esther Ocampo V De Castano, and five sisters, Marina, Beiba, Lesby, Consuelo and Esther, all of Colombia; and seven brothers, Hover of Las Vegas and Dario, Edgar, Norbey, Pedro, Jairo and Pompilio, all of Colombia.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Eastern.p
