The Community College of Southern Nevada will receive a grant of $195,871 from the U.S. Department of Education, Sens. Harry Reid and Richard Bryan, both D-Nev., announced on Wednesday.
The grant money will allow the college, located in an "economically distressed" area of Southern Nevada, to add two computer classrooms with full Internet access, online connections to distance learning and educational software, Reid said.
The computers will offer help for people trying to learn the necessary skills needed in increasingly technical work environments, Bryan said.
Funding for the program is expected to continue at the college for three years, totaling $500,000.
