Doris Bartholomew

Doris Bartholomew, 75, of Pahrump died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 15, 1924, in Oregon. A resident for four years, she was retired.

She is survived by her husband, William R. Riesen; and three sons, Allen Redding, Dale Redding and Ron Redding, all of Oregon.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Oregon. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Leonard F. Beall

Leonard F. Beall, 81, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 27, 1917, in Missouri. A resident for 19 years, he was a postal clerk and an Army veteran.

He is survived by one son, Charles L. Beall of San Diego; one daughter, Barbara J. Morris of Salem, Ore.; three brothers, Jack C. Beall, David Rex Beall and Robert E. Beall; two sisters, Marion Hill and Sharon Lewis; six grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.

Betty J. Byrne

Betty J. Byrne, 71, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 3, 1927, in St. Albans, W.Va. A resident for 47 years, she was a retired instrument repair shop owner-operator, a licensed practical nurse and a columnist in the Las Vegas Sun and the Las Vegas Review-Journal in the early 1960s.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas R.; two daughters, Vicki L. Hendrickson of Henderson and Joyce D. Clatterbuck of Las Vegas; one son, Thomas H. Rosario of Las Vegas; two sisters, Lillian Erskine of Nitro, W.Va., and Margaret Wilson of Tommsuba, Miss.; three brothers, Ode Russell Jr. of Nitro, Robert Russell of Parkersburg, W.Va., and James T. Russell of Charleston, W.Va.; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. services Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Leonard Capobianco Sr.

Leonard Capobianco Sr., of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born in Pennsylvania. A resident for 25 years, he was a city government engineer and a World War II Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; three sons, Leonard Capobianco Jr. of Wisconsin, Peter Capobianco of Pennsylvania and Bruce Capobianco of Orange County, Calif.; two brothers, Michael Capobianco of California and Peter Capobianco of Rhode Island; one sister, Rose Deldeo of Rhode Island; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

James Harrold Esson

James Harrold Esson, 69, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born March 26, 1930, in Boston. A resident for two years, he was a retired FBI agent, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Masons and Society of Retired FBI Agents.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Mac Savaney Esson; two sons, James Esson of Santa Ana, Calif., and Peter Esson of Las Vegas; three daughters, Marjorie Cherry of Metropolis, Ill., Judith Esson of Las Vegas and Brenda Slezak of New Alexandria, Pa.; two sisters, Barbara Dickey and Jean Pond, both of Daytona Beach, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday in University United Methodist Church, 4412 S. Maryland Parkway. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Rube Franklin Jr.

Rube Franklin Jr., 88, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born Sept. 23, 1911, in Pelican, La. A resident for 33 years, he was a retired hotel fry cook.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; three sons, Craig Franklin of Louisiana, Michael Hill of Las Vegas and Eddie Bethea of Arkansas; four daughters, Brenda Rochelle, Lavyonne Johnson, Diane Gaines and Debra Bethea, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Willie Franklin of Shreveport, La.; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, 1117 N. F St. Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Beatrice Godwin

Beatrice Godwin, 86, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born June 13, 1913, in Redlands, Calif. A resident for 19 years, she was a retired department store secretary.

She is survived by one sister, Muriel Early of Las Vegas.

Betty D. Green

Betty D. Green, 34, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in North Las Vegas. She was born May 20, 1965, in Pineville, La. A resident for 34 years, she was a hotel housekeeper and kitchen worker.

She is survived by her husband, Rufus Bell; three daughters, Naisha Green, Tayla Green and Jonaisha Green, her mother, Catherine Lanton, three brothers, Willie L. Green, Demus Green Jr. and Christopher Jones, and three sisters, Viola Green, Phyllis Jefferson and Shanay Harris, all of North Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be noon Thursday in the Greater Faith Baptist Church, 2736 Chamberlain Lane, North Las Vegas. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

William T. Haereiti

William T. Haereiti, 63, of Las Vegas died Saturday. He was born Nov. 17, 1935, in Hangatiki, New Zealand. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired Clark County schoolteacher for about 30 years, a former rugby coach, scoutmaster and trainer.

He is survived by his wife, Linda J.; one daughter, Kare Haereiti, and two sons, Kim Haereiti and Kiel Haereiti, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Poppy Tapara of New Zealand and Hine Robichaud of Vancouver, British Columbia; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in the LDS Eighth Ward Chapel.

Kenneth I. Howard

Kenneth I. Howard, 40, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 8, 1959, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a laborer in the construction industry.

He is survived by one daughter, Felecia Howard of Phoenix; his father, Joe Howard of North Las Vegas; his mother, Della Washington of Las Vegas; two sisters, Angela Coleman of New Orleans and Kathy Broedel of Las Vegas; and his grandmother, Mary Washington of Tallulah, La.

Visitation will continue until 8 p.m. today in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in American Burial and Cremation Services. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Shirley Hymes

Shirley Hymes, 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 10, 1924, on Long Island, N.Y. A resident for six years, she was a retired secretary in the entertainment industry.

She is survived by one son, Vane Cook Jr. of Los Angeles; one daughter, Virginia Malone of Laughlin; three sisters, Marie Mortier of Orlando, Fla., and Anne Pottle and Madeline Dandona, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Richard Travers-Smith of New York City; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Mae Vause Inskeep

Mae Vause Inskeep, 83, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born May 27, 1916, in Spanish Fork, Utah. A resident for 63 years, she was a retired small-business owner.

She is survived by two sons, Gary Vause and Ronnie Vause, both of Las Vegas; four daughters, Gloria Sheppard of Concord, Calif., Patricia Kaufman of Upland, Calif., and Wendy Bohannon and Jenifer Wright, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Afton Stauffer of Bountiful, Utah; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the LDS Viking Ward Chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.

Edmund A. Latacz

Edmund A. Latacz, 75, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 24, 1923, in New Jersey. A resident for 15 years, he was a pipefitter for a pharmacy company and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Michael Latacz of Las Vegas and Philip Latacz of Florida.

Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Myrna L. Martin

Myrna L. Martin, 61, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born April 21, 1938, in Yuma, Ariz. A resident for 11 years, she was a retired computer programmer/analyst and a member of Las Vegas Senior Friends.

She is survived by her husband, Carl; three daughters, Kathleen Bigler of Vancouver, Wash., Terease Hill of Mesquite and Mary Buchanan of Las Vegas; four sons, Steven Randall and David Dierich, both of DeSoto, Texas, Richard Maleskey of Irving, Texas, and Robert Martin of Red Oak, Texas; her parents, Leo and Lois Smith of Oxnard, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Elsie J. Messick, 73, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 25, 1925, in Massachusetts. A resident for four years, she was a homemaker.

Harlin R. Neal Sr., 71, of Las Vegas and Searchlight died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born Jan. 12, 1928, in Windsor, Ill. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired pipefitter.

He is survived by his wife, June Parker Neal; one son, Harlin R. Neal Jr. of Searchlight; three daughters, Paula Tripp and Linda Neal, both of Mount Shasta, Calif., and Darcel Neal of Bend, Ore.; two brothers, Carl Neal of Ponca City, Okla., and William Neal of El Paso, Texas; three sisters, Mary Annetta Jones of Windsor, Ill., Ruth Woods of Carol Stream, Ill., and Linda Foster of Bourbonais, Ill.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, James; two daughters, Jeanette Nowak of Schaumburg, Ill., and Donna McCormick of Las Vegas; one son, Michael Nowak of Bartlett, Ill.; her mother, Evelyn Nugent of Evergreen Park, Ill.; two sisters, Joan Evoy of Chicago Ridge, Ill., and Gwen Carter of Crystal Lake, Ill.; two brothers, James Nugent of Downers Grove, Ill., and Robert Nugent of Summit, Ill.; and one grandchild.

William Manning Payson, 83, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 27, 1916, in Oakland, Calif. A resident for 10 years, he was a liaison engineer for Marquart Aircraft, a member of Masons Oasis Lodge 41 and the American Legion and a member for 53 years of Coast Guard Auxiliary 96.

He is survived by his wife, Helen R.; three sons, R.M. Payson of Colorado and Ricky Peterson and Guy Peterson, both of Nevada; two daughters, Judy Armbrister of California and Vickie Peterson of Nevada; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Edward M. Pellam, 87, of Las Vegas and Boulder City died Friday in a local hospital. He was born March 31, 1912, in Rome, N.Y. A resident for 34 years, he did home delivery for Anderson Dairy and was a member of the Teamsters Union and the Elks Lodge.

He is survived one daughter, Judy Hornbuckle of Boulder City; two brothers, Kent Pellam of Midwest City, Okla., and Vernon Pellam of Florida; and two grandchildren.

Jacques Rosenthal, 91, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. He was born March 24, 1908, in Warsaw, Poland. A resident for one year, he was a retired wine salesman and a member of the Masons in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

He is survived by one daughter, Renee Ross of Moraga, Calif.; one son, Claude Rosenthal of Henderson; one sister, Cypra Hartzmer of Tel Aviv, Israel; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She is survived by her husband, Abraham; two sons, Mark Steinhouse and Barry Steinhouse, and one brother, Arnold Howard, all of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Jarrod R. Straub, 20, of Las Vegas died Sunday. He was born Oct. 21, 1978, in Jackson, Mich. A resident for eight years, he was a delivery driver for a linen supply company, a Bonanza High School graduate and an avid motorcycle fan.

He is survived by his parents, Anitta and Randy Straub, one brother, Aaron Straub, and one sister, Nikki Straub, all of Las Vegas; and his grandmother, Patricia Straub of Grass Lake, Mich.

Jackie Knight Sutton, 53, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born March 18, 1946, in Arizona. A resident for 15 years, he was a dealer.

He is survived by his wife, Maureen; two sons, Joshua and Gary; two daughters, Colleen of Las Vegas and Rosemary of Agoura Hills, Calif.; and two sisters, Barbara and Vickie.

Evart James Underhill, 70, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 16, 1929, in Casa, Ark. A resident for 13 years, he was a retired foreman for a storage tank manufacturer and a member of Boilermakers Union Local 92 of Bloomington, Calif.

He is survived by two daughters, Lisa Moore and Deborah Sinclair, both of Turlock, Calif.; four sisters, Betty Jo Underhill of Seal Beach, Calif., Katie Bilderback of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Pat Horton of Memphis and Opal Reifshnider of Des Pres, Mo.; three brothers, Danny Underhill of Memphis, Charlie Underhill of Houston and Tom Underhill of Flint, Mich.; and seven grandchildren.

Charles Vermullen, 74, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born July 12, 1925, in Channing, Mich. A resident for nine years, he was a retired restaurant/bar owner-operator.

He is survived by his wife, Edith; one son, Charles Vermullen of Germany; his stepmother, Mary Jane Vermullen of Escanaba, Mich.; one sister, Shirley Simmons of Gladstone, Mich.; and one brother, Thomas Vermullen of Wells, Mich.

Services were scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
