Betty Jean Burke

Betty Jean Burke, 75, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born Aug. 20, 1924, in Rochester, N.Y. A resident for 36 years, she was a retired hotel cocktail waitress.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas Burke of Las Vegas and James Raymond Burke of Indian Springs; one sister, Joanne Nolton, and one brother, James Cady, both of New York state; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 9-11 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Dale Newton Clark Jr.

Dale Newton Clark Jr., 62, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 3, 1937, in Iowa. A resident for nine months, he was a phone company technician and a Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Talina Riding of Oceano, Calif.; and two sons, Mike G. Clark and Shawn Clark, both of Arroyo Grande, Calif.

Visitation is scheduled noon-2 p.m. Sunday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Burial will be in Arroyo Grande.

Paul L. Deryckx

Paul L. Deryckx, 78, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born April 14, 1921. A resident for 20 years, he was a carpenter and a veteran.

Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Daniel Desindes

Daniel Desindes, 38, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born July 15, 1961, in Quebec. A resident for one year, he was a carpenter.

He is survived by his wife, Hui-Chin "Tammy"; three daughters, Audrey Desindes and Yvette Desindes, both of Las Vegas, and Teresa Burgard of Milwaukee; one son, Randy Burgard of Milwaukee; his parents, Leo and Yvette Desindes, and two sisters, Francine Marcoux and Lisa, all of Manchester, N.H.; one brother, Ivan Desindes of Alabama; and one grandchild.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., handled arrangements.

Theresa M. "Terry" DiNorcia

Theresa M. "Terry" DiNorcia, 68, of Pine Grove Mills, Pa., died Thursday in a Pennsylvania nursing home. She was born Jan. 18, 1931, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A former Las Vegas resident, she was a retired agent for E.F. Hutton and J.P. Morgan, a member of the Multiple Sclerosis Association in Cherry Hill, N.J., a Paradise Valley Democratic precinct secretary, enjoyed her grandchildren, her parrot Toby, the New York Yankees and Giants, and gardening and belonged to numerous local bowling leagues.

She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Vanette of Pine Grove Mills; two sons, Leone DiNorcia of Hebron, Pa., and Joseph DiNorcia of Levittown, N.Y.; two sisters, Florence McGrath of Brooklyn and Mary Millionis of Las Vegas; and seven grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Koch Funeral Home, State College, Pa., is handling arrangements.

Charles Robert Eifert

Charles Robert Eifert, 57, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born April 11, 1942, in Missouri. A resident for six months, he was a property manager for a real estate company and a veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Christopher Eifert of Branson, Mo., and Greg Eifert of Seattle.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Seattle. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Howard E. Goodwin

Howard E. Goodwin, 82, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local care center. He was born July 7, 1917, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired automotive executive, an Air Force major, a member of the 20th Air Force Association, Distinguished Flying Cross Society and American Legion.

He is survived by one son, Thomas Goodwin of Las Vegas; one niece, Diane Pearson of Moline, Ill.; two nephews, Larry Giebel of Poulsbo, Wash., and Jerry Giebel of Spring Creek; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Valley Memorial Crematory, 745 W. Sunset Road, No. 16, Henderson, is handling private arrangements.

Joseph Booth Grace

Joseph Booth Grace, 67, of Henderson died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born March 26, 1932, in California. A resident for seven months, he was a federal government contractor.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley.

Visitation will be private. Burial will be in California. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Max Graham

Max Graham, 84, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 29, 1915, in Iowa. A resident for nine years, he was a mechanic for the Air Force.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; one daughter, Lisa Piazzi of Charlotte, N.C.; and two sons, Christopher Henderson of San Francisco and David Henderson of Virginia.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Burial will be private. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Leaine Nelson Jensen

Leaine Nelson Jensen, 71, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. She was born Dec. 21, 1928, in Utah. A resident for many years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Steven Jensen of Henderson.

Robert Johns

Robert Johns, 77, of Las Vegas died Friday in Mooresville, N.C. He was born July 13, 1922, in Kansas City, Mo. A resident for six years, he was a writer.

He is survived by one niece, Wendy Scott of Belmont, N.C.

Burial will be private. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Terry Lee Lockwood

Terry Lee Lockwood, 35, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born April 9, 1964, in Marysville, Ohio. A resident for 11 years, he was a floral designer.

He is survived by his father, Jacob Lockwood Sr. of Peoria, Ohio; his mother and stepfather, Loretta and John Anstine of Las Vegas; two sisters, Mary Ramirez of Pahrump and Toni Bradford of Henderson; and one brother, Jacob Lockwood Jr. of Pahrump.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m.-noon Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Victor Y. Saldana

Victor Y. Saldana, 63, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born June 15, 1936, in Presidio, Texas. A resident for 27 years, he was a retired foreman in the construction industry.

He is survived by his wife, Juana; two sons, Victor Saldana and Miguel Saldana, and one daughter, Terry Saldana, all of Las Vegas; two stepsons, Ben Ramierz of Marathon, Texas, and Tito Saldana of Redlands, Calif.; three brothers, Conrado Adalberto and Anlberto Sandana, both of Pecos, Texas, and Chumel Saldana of Mexico; three sisters, Juana Saldana, Isaura Saldana and Bertha Saldana, all of Mexico; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will continue until 8 p.m. today with a 5:30 p.m. rosary in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 1840 N. Bruce St. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.

Leatha Edmonia Smith

Leatha Edmonia Smith, 69, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born July 29, 1930, in St. Louis. A resident for five years, she was a clerical worker.

She is survived by four sons, Sheldon L. Smith of Missouri, Gary W. Smith and Don K. Smith, both of Las Vegas, and Nathan A. Smith of Los Angeles; and two daughters, Lizette J. Smith of Missouri and Gail A. Smith of Indiana.

Burial will be in St. Louis. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Howard Weber

Howard Weber, 64, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 23, 1935, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for five years, he was a salesman in the printing industry and an Army veteran from 1957-58.

He is survived by his wife, Naomi; three sons, Aaron Heart of Shasta, Calif., Michael Weber of San Diego and Bruce Weber of Las Vegas; and one sister, Dorothy Melcer of Hackensack, N.J.
