Rebels’ doubles team advances

PIKESVILLE, Md. -- The UNLV doubles team of Nenad Zivkovic and Vladimir Pavicevic, seeded 5-8, won its first-round match at the 1999 T. Rowe Price National Clay Court Championships at the Suburban Club of Baltimore County Thursday. The duo, ranked 28th nationally, rallied to defeat unseeded Csognor Bibza and Johann Jooste of Baylor, 3-6, 7-5, 6-4.
In singles play, Pavicevic, ranked 39th, lost to Oscar Johansson of Arkansas, 6-4, 6-7, 6-3, and to Tomas Smid of Miami, 6-2, 7-5.
