Tahoe condo project denied by TRPA

A group of concerned residents, the League to Save Lake Tahoe and the California attorney general's office opposed the project, saying it went against the bistate TRPA's code and water quality plan.
The project would have been built near Kahle Park, Lake Village and Burke Creek, just north of Stateline's hotel-casino zone.
Larry Hoffman, attorney for developer Jim Borelli, argued Wednesday that the South Shore Estates project followed all of TRPA's rules.
"When it's all said and done, this is a very good project you shouldn't be embarrassed about," he said. "This project does what you want."
Hoffman said similar projects have been approved elsewhere in the Tahoe basin. While the TRPA may have concerns now about violating its code and water quality plan, he added it's unfair to punish "the last guy coming down the plank."'
