UNLV basketball fans will not be shortchanged when it comes to television exposure for the upcoming season. All 10 road games will be televised back to Las Vegas as SportsWest announced its basketball schedule Tuesday in Salt Lake City.
The company, which is handling the TV rights for seven of the eight Mountain West Conference schools, will show five Rebels road games and three home games.
The Mountain West road games are the Jan. 15 game at Air Force, the Jan. 31 game at Wyoming, the Feb. 19 game at Brigham Young and the March 2 game at San Diego State. In addition, the Jan. 2 game at Cincinnati will also be televised by SportsWest.
The three home games are Jan. 22 against San Diego State, Feb. 10 vs. Colorado State and Feb. 12 against Wyoming.
KLAS Channel 8, the SportsWest affiliate in Las Vegas, is still determining which basketball games it will air. Those games not shown on Channel 8 will be aired on another local outlet to be determined.
ESPN is televising the Jan. 17 game at New Mexico, the Feb. 21 game at Utah and the Jan. 29 game at Colorado State (ESPN Regional). Raycom Sports will televise the MVP Food Lion Classic from Charlotte, N.C., Dec. 3-4.
