Billie Bautista

Billie Bautista, 41, of Las Vegas died Sept. 12 in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was born Feb. 28, 1958, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his parents, Billy and Grace Lujan Bautista.

John David Barnett

John David Barnett, 17, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born July 9, 1982, in Pittsburgh. A resident for nine years, he was a clerk at Wal-Mart and a student and band member at Las Vegas High School.

He is survived by his parents, Karol and Ned Barnett of Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Wednesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

The family suggests donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Memphis, Tenn., or the Las Vegas High School Band Department.

Hugh Y. Brocklehurst

Hugh Y. Brocklehurst, 76, of Henderson died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born April 22, 1923, in Long Beach, Calif. A resident for eight years, he was a retired truck driver and a member of the Teamsters Union.

He is survived by three sons, Hugh R. Brocklehurst of Henderson, Bart J. Brocklehurst of Sparks and Pat T. Plover of Wilsonville, Ore.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

June B. Budge

June B. Budge, 84, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospice. She was born May 24, 1915, in Smoot, Wyo. A resident for one year, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Nona C. Whipple of North Las Vegas, Helen Rogers of Hesperia, Calif., and Anita Brown of Smithfield, Utah; three brothers, Charles Bruce of Mesa, Ariz., Lyman Bruce of Lake Oswego, Ore., and Donald Bruce of California; one sister, Ree Call of Afton, Wyo.; nine grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be in Utah. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Debra A. Cammack

Debra A. Cammack, 48, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 31, 1950, in California. A resident for 19 years, she was a bartender.

She is survived by one son, Robert Allen Cammack III; one daughter, Holly Cammack; her mother, Phyllis Wynia; one brother, Rick B. Pawlicki; and three grandchildren.

Charles W. Carey Sr.

Charles W. Carey Sr., 80, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 9, 1919, in Litchfield, Ill. A resident for six years, he was a retired ticket agent in the entertainment industry and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene E.; one son, Charles W. Carey Jr. of Orange, Calif.; four daughters, Cindy Carey of Santa Monica, Calif., Tammy Brown of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., Colette Cervantes of Las Vegas and Lori MacIntosh of St. Charles, Ill.; one sister, Margaret Jane Scalaro of Rancho Santa Margarita; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Shirley L. Crosteffon

Shirley L. Crosteffon, 67, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 5, 1932, in Monroe, Mich. A resident for 13 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Dale M.; one son, Dale L. Crosteffon of Las Vegas; one daughter, Cynthia L. Eilander of Sterling, Mass.; one brother, James Barton of Sebring, Fla.; and two sisters, Iris Burkett of Monroe, Mich., and Jeanette Nevare of Florida.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Sunrise Mountain United Methodist Church, 2075 N. Lamb Blvd. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Julia V. Ferrera

Julia V. Ferrera, 77, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. She was born Aug. 29, 1922, in Ozone Park, N.Y. A resident for 11 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, John; one daughter, Virginia Wirtenson of Ocala, Fla.; two sons, Charles Ferrera and Ricky Ferrera, both of Henderson; one sister, Rose Fontana of Phoenix; one brother, Victor Torino of Mullica Hill, N.J.; and seven grandchildren.

Raymond E. Gummo

Raymond E. Gummo, 80, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 4, 1919, in West Loop, Pa. A resident for 35 years, he was a retired laborer.

He is survived by two daughters, Linda Querry of Seattle and Janet Clark of Las Vegas; four sisters, Esther Metz and Helen Shultz, both of Pennsylvania, and Violet Nosbisch and Doris Kasprzyk, both of New York state; two brothers, Andrew Gummo of Pittsburgh and Marlin Gummo of New York state; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 9 a.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Carey D. Harris

Carey D. Harris, 74, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born April 20, 1925, in Clay County, Ala. A longtime resident, he was a union business manager and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma; three daughters, Belinda Harris of Virginia and Debbie Lyons and Terry McMahan, both of Las Vegas; three sons, Randy Murphy and Scott Murphy, both of Las Vegas, and Dennis Harris; four brothers, Ralph Harris, Ray Harris and Gerald Harris, all of Alabama, and Lowell Harris of Georgia; one sister, Nettie Jean of Alabama; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be 6-7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will be in Eden Vale Cemetery.

Lindsay Hill

Lindsay Hill, 15, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 17, 1984, in Las Vegas. A resident for 15 years, she was a student.

She is survived by her mother, Kathy Hill, two uncles, Robert Hill and Art Curtis, one aunt, Cindy Curtis, and her grandmother, E. Faye Hill, all of Las Vegas.

Robert Donald Huffman

Robert Donald Huffman, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born March 5, 1927, in Lexington, Mo. A resident for 28 years, he was a salesman for a vending machine manufacturer and a World War II and Korean War Navy veteran.

He is survived by three sons, Gary Huffman of Kansas City, Mo., Troy Huffman of Las Vegas and Bob Huffman of San Diego; and three grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Libby Levine, 73, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born Feb. 23, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 46 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Gig; one daughter, Suzie Conaway-Cameron, and two sisters, Gloria Smith and Bonita McHenry, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Randy Cardinal of Central, Utah; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service was scheduled at 1 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Walter L. Lister

Walter L. Lister, 73, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 21, 1925, in Colchester, Vt. A resident for 35 years, he was a retired city government supervisor and a World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Doris; one son, Walter Lister of Salinas, Calif.; one daughter, Vicki Weatherman of Las Vegas; one sister, Beverly Jarvis of Colchester; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be noon Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will be 2:15 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Charles Edward Lucas, 62, of Las Vegas died Sept. 11 in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 2, 1937, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 30 years, he was a hairdresser/barber and an Army paratrooper.

He is survived by two sons, Charles Lucas and Frank Lucas; two daughters, Margit and Brenda; one brother, Vernon; one sister, Arleen; and nine grandchildren.

Jaleen Steed Makela

Jaleen Steed Makela, 51, of Utah died Aug. 15 in Riverdale, Ga. She was born Nov. 1, 1947, in St. George, Utah. A former Las Vegas resident for 22 years, she was a homemaker and a Western High School graduate.

She is survived by her husband, John; one son, Mark of Riverdale; one daughter, Crystal of Fort Hood, Texas; two stepsons, Glenn of Jacksonville, Fla., and Dean of Spokane, Wash.; her mother, Loa Steed, one sister, Launa Denning, and two brothers, Val Steed and Bryan Steed, all of Las Vegas.

Tom Gero Marino, 41, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born Dec. 18, 1957, in San Diego. A resident for 17 years, he was an auto body specialist and mechanic.

He is survived by one daughter, Amber Falzarano, one son, Vincent Marino, and his mother, Lavinia Morris, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, Anthony Marino of Las Vegas and Mike Lester of North Bend, Ore.; one sister, Joanne Marino of Brownsville, Ore.; and one granddaughter, Anastasia Falzarano of Las Vegas.

A. Jay Milton, 68, of North Las Vegas died July 8 in Las Vegas. He was born June 19, 1931, in Los Angeles. A resident for two years, he was a retired soap manufacturer.

James Morgan, 51, of Las Vegas died Thursday. An attorney, he was born Dec. 8, 1947, in Vancouver, British Columbia.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta Kilcourse-Morgan; two daughters, Kael Cruickshank and Megan Cruickshank, both of Reno; and his mother, Helen Cruickshank of Vancouver.

Gordon Munford

Gordon Munford, 70, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born June 8, 1929, in California. A resident for nine years, he was a music director, a member of the local Musicians Union, American Symphony Orchestra League and ASCAP and a former member of the board of directors for the Association of Musical Arrangers.

He is survived by his wife, Gail.

James M. Murphy

James M. Murphy, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born March 22, 1922, in Providence, R.I. A resident for 26 years, he was a retired taxicab driver, former owner of Murphy's Sandblasting Co. and a World War II and Korean War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria; one daughter, Linda Courton of Escondido, Calif.; one son, William M. Murphy of Temecula, Calif.; one brother, William T. Murphy of Attleboro, Mass.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Burial will be in Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, Calif. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Nell Pool, 78, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born April 4, 1921, in Las Animas, Colo. A resident for 30 years, she was a retired bookkeeper for the federal government, a member of the Moose Lodge and Eagle Lodge.

She is survived by one son, Richard Pool of Henderson; one sister, Maggie Bradford of Baker City, Ore.; and one grandchild.

Visitation will be noon-7 p.m. Thursday and Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Jerome L. Rossman

Jerome L. Rossman, 78, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born March 26, 1921, in Michigan. A resident for 10 years, he was a printing artist and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Fanny.

Esther I. Vanderpool

Esther I. Vanderpool, 75, of Henderson Saturday in Henderson. She was born Jan. 27, 1924, in Illinois. A resident for 17 years, she was a veterinarian's assistant.

She is survived by her husband, Gene; one daughter, Cheryl Valdez of Utah; one son, Bob Vanderpool of Henderson; two brothers, Robert Smith of Texas and Gary Smith of Illinois; three sisters, Carol Pollman of Florida, Lois Weers of Iowa, and Dorothy Koontz of Illinois; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Bruce E. Williams, 76, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local health care center. He was born March 23, 1923, in Colorado Springs, Colo. A resident for four years, he was a furniture manufacturing foreman.

He is survived by his wife, Grace; two daughters, Sandra Depner of Las Vegas and Sonja Lambeth of Baker City, Ore.; one sister, Shirley Lindsay of Walla Walla, Wash.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Fred L. Worthen

Fred L. Worthen, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 7, 1920, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 52 years, he was a retired hotel bellman and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Anna M.; two daughters, Kathleen Mehling and Debra Worthen, both of Las Vegas; one son, Richard B. Colucci of Lake Tahoe; one sister, Betty Potter of Salt Lake City; three brothers, John Worthen and James Worthen, both of Salt Lake City, and Clifford Worthen of Seattle; and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
