FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- The UNLV women's soccer team slipped to 2-3-1 Sunday by suffering a 2-0 loss to previously winless Northern Arizona.
Holly Jones scored both goals for NAU.
She scored on a rainbow kick in the 24th minute and sealed the win with a breakaway in the 88th minute.
The Rebels outshot the NAU women 16-9 but most of the Rebels' good scoring chances were nullified by offsides calls.
"We struggled on offense," UNLV coach Staci Hendershott said.
"We're still looking for the right chemistry. We need to find the right group of players and get focused and get the ball in the back of the net."
Midfielder Anita Pedford was among the more active UNLV regulars against NAU, taking four shots with three on goal. Cosette Joffs also got off four shots, with three of them requiring saves, in a substitute role.
The Rebels are back in action at 7 p.m. Tuesday when they host Cal State Fullerton.
