Worker sues over nail gun injury
Thursday, Sept. 16, 1999 | 10:42 a.m.
A maintenance worker sued his employer, Hilton Hotels Corp., and Senco Products Inc., alleging a defective pneumatic nailer injured him while he was working at the Las Vegas Hilton.
The plaintiff, Mitchel Bonfils, alleged the nail gun was "unsafe and defective" and accused Senco of failing to test its product for safety and quality control standards and of poor product design and manufacturing.
The Clark County District Court suit said Bonfils was using the nail gun to fasten crown moldings to a wall at the Hilton on July 31, 1997, when the "defective nail gun fired a nail into Bonfils, impaling his left chest."
Hilton attorneys could not be reached for comment. The Las Vegas Hilton is now controlled by Park Place Entertainment, a Hilton spinoff.
