Thursday, Sept. 16, 1999 | 11:32 a.m.
An argument at a party in a restaurant early this morning escalated into a shooting that left one man dead and another critically injured, police said.
Metro Police homicide Lt. Wayne Petersen said police are searching for two Asian males in their mid- to late 20s.
Petersen said the two men hit by a barrage of gunfire also were Asian, but their names were not released until family members can be notified.
The shooting occurred about 5 a.m. today in the parking lot in front of the Mi La Cay restaurant, at the southeast corner of a shopping center at 4801 W. Spring Mountain Road.
Petersen said when an argument started inside the restaurant the manager kicked out the revelers.
Several minutes later shots were fired, police said.
Petersen said several people saw different parts of the incident.
The two men who were shot were taken to University Medical Center. One man died at the hospital, and the other was in critical condition with several gunshot wounds this morning.
Petersen said one of the two shooters was described as about 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds and wearing a yellow or gold shirt.
The second was described as 5 feet 8 inches and wearing a white T-shirt with stripes.
