John Earl Allen
John Earl Allen, 55, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. He was born April 11, 1944, in Arkansas. A resident for many years, he was a porter at Harrah's hotel-casino.
He is survived by one brother, Lerna Aller Jr.; three nephews and one great-nephew.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be in Arkansas.
Muriel I. Alonzo
Muriel I. Alonzo, 86, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 18, 1912, in Port of Spain, Trinidad. A resident for four years, she was a retired dietary aide.
She is survived by two daughters, Sheila Ward and Verna Walker, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Albena Henry of San Francisco; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be private.
Cletus James Babner
Cletus James Babner, 89, of Henderson died Friday in Henderson. He was born Feb. 24, 1910, in York, Pa. A resident for 52 years, he was a retired carpenter and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by one daughter, Josephine Giuffrida of York; three sons, James Babner and Jack Babner, both of York, and Jeffrey Babner of Carlisle, Pa.; three sisters, Treva Platts of Millsboro, Del., Doretha Hartwick of Mannahawkin, N.J., and Violet Skelton of York; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 9 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Jack Lee Bonebrake
Jack Lee Bonebrake, 74, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 15, 1924, in Texas. A resident for most of his adult life, he was a pit boss for the Tropicana and a Coast Guard veteran.
He is survived by his aunt and uncle, Lois and Richard Allison; and numerous cousins.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Will Carstens
Will Carstens, 65, of Eldorado Valley died Monday in Eldorado Valley. He was born May 27, 1934, in Saskatchewan. A resident for two years, he was a retired building contractor, a member of the Ultralight Flying Machines and Celebrations of Self.
He is survived by one daughter, Pamela Beck of Auberry, Calif.; two sons, Jeffrey Carstens of Las Vegas and Dale Carstens of Henderson; three stepdaughters, Victoria Farber of Longview, Wash., Rebecca Gaudi of Medford, Ore., and Leslee Dailey of Clovis, Calif.; one stepson, Michael Dobbins of Maui, Hawaii; one sister, Tracy Carstens of Sequim, Wash.; one brother, Curtis Carstens of Tucson, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.
Tami Cummings
Tami Cummings, 30, of Boulder City died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 17, 1968, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a student.
She is survived by her mother and stepfather Deneen M. and Terry Atwood of Boulder City; her father, David W. Cummings of Chengdu, China; and her grandparents, Loretta Cummings, and Joe and Rae Barros, all of Las Vegas.
Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling private arrangements.
John Daley Jr.
John Daley Jr., 56, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 16, 1943, in Illinois. A resident for many years, he was a bartender.
He is survived by his father, John Daley Sr. of Illinois.

Virginia C. DeBurgh
Virginia C. DeBurgh, 74, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 23, 1925, in Worcester, Mass. A resident for nine years, she was an office manager, an Army veteran and a member of the senior group at Winchester Community Center.
She is survived by one daughter, Dee Schafer of Las Vegas; one sister, June Hindy of Kemmerer, Wyo.; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
Nancy A. Fowler
Nancy A. Fowler, 41, of Las Vegas died Tuesday. She was born July 27, 1958, in Newark, N.J. A resident for 10 years, she was an Army veteran and was disabled.
She is survived by her husband, John; one sister, Joyce Melchionna of Las Vegas; and two brothers, Louis Przydzial of Las Vegas and Michael Astrumn of Sayreville, N.J.
Services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Robert A. Gray, 86, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born July 13, 1913, in Stockton, Calif. A resident for 35 years, he was a retired superintendent methodologist at a construction site.
He is survived by one daughter, Barbara Gray Krause of Las Vegas; one sister, Janet Ross of Novato, Calif.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2520 Patrick Lane. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Victor A. Gutzwa Sr.
Victor A. Gutzwa Sr., 79, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 5, 1920, in Meriden, Conn. A resident for three years, he was a retired welfare director/administrator for an extended care facility, a World War II Army veteran, past commander of the Polish Legion of American Veterans in Meriden, a member of the Connecticut Association of Nursing Home Administration and was on the board of the Meriden Cancer Society and Heart Association.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine "Kelley"; two sons, Chip Gutzwa and Mark Gutzwa, both of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will contunue until a 6 p.m. vigil today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Friday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.

The Rev. John Henry Jr., 72, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born May 6, 1927, in Tallulah, La. A resident for 40 years, he was a pastor for the New Light Missionary Baptist Church and had worked for the Stardust hotel-casino, Circus Circus, Stauffer Chemicals and EG&G.
He is survived by his wife, Eliza; one daughter, Lenorthen Henry Brewer of Las Vegas; five sons, Van Patrick Henry, Enoch Henry, Mark Henry and Timothy Henry, all of Las Vegas, and John Henry III of Chicago; nine brothers, Willie Walker, John Walker, Herman Walker, William Walker and Roy Walker, all of Las Vegas, A.J. Henry of Oakland, Calif., Eugene Henry of Compton, Calif., and Moses Henry and Robert Henry, both of Monroe, La.; seven sisters, Suzie Butler and Mattie Stevenson, both of Las Vegas, Queenesther Thomas of Natchez, Miss., and Irene Douglas, Mertis Williams, Julia Davis and Emma Thomas, all of Baton Rouge, La.; 28 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4-10 p.m. Friday in New Light Missionary Baptist Church, 1165 Lawry Ave. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Marilyn Houseman, 57, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 8, 1942, in Des Moines, Iowa. A resident for nine years, she was a courier for Merica Burch and Dickerson.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald; two sons, Ronald Houseman Jr. of Des Moines and Brett A. Houseman of Las Vegas; one daughter, Tara L. Ayotte of Las Vegas; her mother, Helen Terry, and one brother, Donald Terry, both of Des Moines; and one grandchild.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be in Des Moines.
Richard J. Lausch
Richard J. Lausch, 71, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born May 30, 1928, in Joliet, Ill. A resident for 19 years, he was a retired laborer and a Korean War Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Ann; one stepdaughter, Ronda Vega, and one brother, Jack Lausch, both of Joliet; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.
Jack L. Melton
Jack L. Melton, 64, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born April 27, 1935, in Highland Park, Mich. A resident for seven years, he was a retired Navy lieutenant commander and Vietnam War veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Michiko; and two sisters, Patricia Wostriakoff of Canyon Country, Calif., and Margaret Contreras of Reseda, Calif.

James Albert Moloney
James Albert Moloney, 70, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 12, 1929, in Marion, Ohio. A resident for many years, he was a retired automobile salesman and a Korean War Navy journalist.
He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Miller of Fernley and Katheryn Moloney of Littleton, Colo.; two sons, Kevin Moloney and James Moloney, both of Las Vegas; two sisters, Bertha Hardy of Marion, Ohio, and Theresa Frye of Huntsville, Ohio; and two brothers, Maurice Moloney and Charles Moloney, both of Columbus, Ohio.
Graveside services were scheduled at noon today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
David Montgomery
David Montgomery, 62, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born July 10, 1937, in Westpoint, Miss. A resident for 13 years, he was a casino porter.
He is survived by his wife, Josefina; two sons, David Montgomery III and David Montgomery II, one daughter, Tina Montgomery, his mother, Polly Montgomery, four sisters, Adella Hudson, Mary Patterson, Elsa Carter and Malinda Montgomery, and three brothers, Dan, Nathaniel and Edward Lewis Montgomery, all of Las Vegas.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Juanita Wallace Moore
Juanita Wallace Moore, 68, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local assisted living center. She was born Jan. 12, 1931, in Monroe, La. A resident for one year, she was a retired teacher/counselor.
She is survived by one sister, Wydell Williams of Los Angeles; and one brother, Mose Wallace Jr. of Ville Platt, La.

James Parker, 83, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born July 9, 1916, in Jerome, Idaho. A resident for 44 years, he owned and operated Parker Games for 40 years and was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemarie; and one brother, Vernon Parker of Las Vegas.

Charles Ray Rupert
Charles Ray Rupert, 65, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 14, 1933, in Williamsport, Pa. A resident for 18 years, he was a carpenter/cabinetmaker for 50 years, a Korean War Army veteran and a member of the Presidential Honor Guard for President Eisenhower.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara A.; eight daughters, Christine Rupert of Las Vegas, Eunice Rupert of Chicago, Janice Rupert of New York state and Denise Rupert, Karen Rupert, Sharon Russell, Nancy Norris and Lisa Stein, all of Liberty, N.Y.; four sons, Gregory Rupert and Kort Rupert, both of Las Vegas, and Charles Rupert Jr. and Raymond Rupert, both of Liberty; one sister, Diane Fox, and one half-brother, Jerry Weasner, both of Ellenwood, Pa.; and 13 grandchildren.

Nellie U. Scott, 92, of Boulder City died Tuesday in Boulder City. She was born Feb. 9, 1907, in Oklahoma. A resident for 45 years, she was a homemaker and a Navy veteran.
She is survived by one niece, Lillian Updegraff Simien of Grover Beach, Calif.

Kenneth 'Ramblin' Stone
Kenneth "Ramblin" Stone, 61, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born Sept. 30, 1937, in Port Huron, Mich. A resident for 18 years, he was a retired painter in the construction industry.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Mary Morley, one daughter, Tonya, and three sons, Todd, Kenneth and Bradley, all of Las Vegas; several brothers and sisters; and 13 grandchildren.
A memorial service date is pending, which will be at the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Susie Ann Stone
Susie Ann Stone, 55, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born May 10, 1944, in Fordyce, Ark. A resident for 45 years, she was a hotel housekeeper.
She is survived by two sons, Mark Smith and Tony Smith, one daughter, Camil Wimberly, and two brothers, Ben Williams Jr. and Gregory Williams, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Linda Scott of North Las Vegas and Brenda Williams of Las Vegas; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. services Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Graveside services will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Charles B. Strehl
Charles B. Strehl, 71, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born May 1, 1928, in Paterson, N.J. A resident for seven years, he was a mental health professional and social worker for the state of Nevada and worked with the American Red Cross.
He is survived by his wife, Lydia; five daughters, Carol Tokar of Butler, Pa., "Tree" Corrigan of Las Vegas, Bernadette Smith of Renfrew, Pa., Mary Catherine Martinka of Natrona, Pa., and Christine Strehl of Columbus, Ohio; two sons, Michael Strehl of Natrona and Thomas Strehl of Wampum, Pa.; one brother, Lawrence Strehl of York, Pa.; two sisters, Bernadette Mulvey of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Isabel Bonham of Whiting, N.J.; and 10 grandchildren.
Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday in Christ Episcopal Church Chapel. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Nathan 'Speed' Tapler
Nathan "Speed" Tapler, 88, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 17, 1910, in Philadelphia. A resident for two years, he was a retired food warehouse supervisor and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by one daughter, Rhonda Tapler of Las Vegas; one sister, Lena Sargan of Delray Beach, Fla.; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
